POWER OUR POTENTIAL CAMPAIGN Our final deadline is fast approaching!

BCD is headed down the final campaign stretch – with the July 15 deadline fast approaching. How we measure success will depend on new and additional gifts contributed this year. To reach our campaign goal BCD must raise $76,000 by July 15, 2014. Our goal of $500,000 is achievable! To date, the investment in BCD’s future has been inspirational: • 40 community members have supported the campaign. • We have raised a total of $424,000 to date for the POP Campaign.

Broad support and a few generous leaders will help push BCD across the finish line. But we need your help, and now is the time. Your generosity will help transform our students today, and the BCD campus and community for years to come.

BCD Annual Fund Donors 2012-2013 Philanthropy really does make a difference!

Each year, donor support provides exceptional opportunities to BCD students and teachers. BCD’s generous giving has been vital since the school’s founding in 1988. While tuition supplies a strong financial base, gifts from donors helps ensure the EXCELLENCE of a BCD education. The Boulder Country Day School Report on Philanthropy allows us the opportunity to acknowledge the families, friends, grandparents, alumni, foundations and corporations for their support of our Annual Fund Campaign. The Annual Fund is a vital aspect of the school’s fundraising efforts. In addition to helping bridge the gap between tuition, the generosity of our community contributes to the salaries for our amazing faculty and staff, competitive athletics, premier academic programs, the remarkable teacher-to-student ratio, the maintenance of our beautiful campus, challenging performing and visual arts programs, and so much more.

MARTIN FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP FUND BCD’S VALUES COME FULL CIRCLE.

The Martin Family has been involved with Boulder Country Day School since their daughter Laura began attending preschool in 1993. Laura graduated in 2004 from BCD and, now a college graduate, has joined BCD’s Board of Trustees as our first alumni trustee. While a student here, both of Laura’s parents committed their time and means to supporting the school in various ways including facilities acquisition, marketing, board governance, and philanthropy. In 2005 Scott and Janet Martin made a significant donation that enabled BCD to start the Martin Family Scholarship Fund. They believe in the power of a BCD education and want to ensure that access to it is not deterred by a lack of financial means.

Today the Martin Family Scholarship is used to support families who meet BCD’s admission criteria but who cannot cover the cost of attendance without additional support.

THE SHIELDS SCHOLARSHIP & THE STAPP SUMMER STUDY GRANT IN RECOGNITION OF EXCELLENCE.

The Shields Scholarship, named after our previous Head of School, Mike Shields, and his wife Roie, was created to support a rising or current BCD Middle School student who has achieved academic excellence, shown a commitment to community service, and demonstrated financial need. STAFF ENRICHMENT IS A PRIORITY.

The Stapp Summer Study Grant initiative is designed to provide funds for eligible teaching faculty to engage in a Professionally Enriching Activity during the summer.

As a recipient of the 2013 Stapp Summer Study Grant, I was able to attend a 5-day National PE Institute held at U NC . I learned the latest strategies promoting lifelong health and wellness for the youth of today.” – Doug Simkin

BUILDING A BETTER EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE FOR OUR STUDENTS OUR GOAL IS 100% PARTICIPATION

When BCD donors come together through the Annual Fund their power is tremendous. The BCD Annual Fund raised $141,018 during 2012-2013. This represented 3% of BCD’s operating budget – meaning that every gift helped to sustain the extraordinary people and programs that make BCD an exceptional place to learn. Participation in the Annual Fund is a critical measure of the strength of a school. Our goal is 100 percent participation from our Board of Trustees, Faculty and Staff, and our Parents. High percentage rates send a strong message to outside foundation donors that our constituents value the education being provided at Boulder Country Day School. Every gift – no matter the amount – makes a difference!
