Sawtell

What is it? What’s there?

It is the mouth of Boambee Creek, Sawtell Beach and rock masses. There is very easy access to all areas. There are no facilities here, but it is an easy walk to the shops. Situated right behind the caravan park.

Where is it?

Just ten minutes south from Coffs Harbour using the Link Road. Walk along the boardwalk and fish this side of the creek. Along this stretch there are patches of rock and sandy areas for fishing. Sawtell is renowned for its boutique shopping and quiet seaside lifestyle.

For the kids

Sawtell beach is patrolled most days during the summer months. What fish should I target?

With the mix of both the creek and the beach you can target anything from Whiting, Bream and Flathead. Large Flathead have been known to be caught here.

What bait should I use?

Worms are best and fresh prawns if you get them on the day.

What lures are best?

Some areas can be quite shallow so small soft plastics work best. Best time to fish?

Dusk and dawn especially if it coincides with a high tide. Great all year round.

What dream fish might I catch?

Large Flathead up to to 3kg and big Bream. GTs have been caught here in the summer months.
