What is it?
A deep reef as the name suggests. Seventy metres of water. Where is it?

About 15 miles due east of Coffs Harbour. What’s there?
Very deep reef.
What fish should I target?
Yellowtail kingfish, snapper, mulloway, spotted/Spanish mackerel, pearl perch, venus tusk fish.
70m Kings
What bait should I use?
Fresh cut baits (i.e. pilchard, yellowtail or slimey mackerel), squid, cuttlefish, live baits such as bonito, pike, slimey mackerel and yakkas.
What lures are best?
Shimano Lucanus jigs, knife jigs, slow jigs.
Best time to fish?
All year round, though the winter months will produce nice catches more consistently.
For the kids
This is not a great spot for kids as it is a reasonable run from the Harbour.
What dream fish might I catch?
Mega yellowtail kingfish.... Make sure your body and equipment are up to the challenge! Stay Safe
Two litres of fresh drinking water per person must be carried on all vessels operating on any open (ocean) waters.
