Individual attention with high expectations leads to wise thinkers; pupils become strong in understanding. At Claremont Fan Court School, we provide an academic and intellectual education which challenges and engages our pupils. In Key Stage 3 a broad range of subjects across humanities, languages, mathematics, sciences and the creative arts is studied. Subject options are introduced at GCSE and A level. In small teaching groups, ranging from 12 to 20, a combination of individual care, supportive teaching, regular assessment, monitoring and reporting allows the learner to shine and exceed their own expectations. The Mansion is at the heart of the Senior School and houses the faculties of mathematics, English, humanities and languages. Art is also taught in the inspiring setting of Capability Brown’s Palladian architectural masterpiece. Surrounding the Mansion, within the 100 acre grounds, are other specialist facilities including an indoor sports hall and gymnasium, outdoor netball and tennis courts, lacrosse, football, rugby and cricket pitches and track and field athletics areas.

The Joyce Grenfell Centre for Performing Arts provides the school’s main auditorium with a well-equipped stage and drama studios. Next door is the Music School with music technology suite, integrated recording studio and instrumental teaching rooms. Science and technology facilities are housed in specialist laboratories, studios and workshops. Excellent results at GCSE and A level lead to successful placements at university.

Our character education programme provides a structured approach to personal development with a focus each month on essential character qualities. Growth in right thinking and acting opens up an awareness that provides a whole new perspective on every pupil’s capabilities.

Emphasis on individual growth and personal responsibility gives freedom.

Developing strength and ability to deal with life challenges is one of the most important elements in our curriculum. Real education is about self-confidence without arrogance and developing a wide range of interests which extend beyond the classroom. By shaping the whole person, each pupil is ready for the challenges ahead. Through an extensive co-curricular programme of trips, enrichment programmes, visiting speakers and traditional music, sporting and creative activities, our pupils develop as fully rounded and confident individuals who are ready to create their own successes.
