Our consideration of these changing needs shapes the nature of educational provision at St Edmund Campion. Rooted
in the values of faith, truth and trust, our approach to learning and development is shaped around the spiritual and physical well-being of each child we educate both now and for the future.

description attributed to our students) to be a self-aware, character with an independent mind; an individual who
respects the differentness of others. By the time they leave the school, we want each student to have that true sense of

St Edmund Campion
St Edmund Campion lived in the 16th century and is celebrated for his hard work, loyalty and commitment to the Catholic faith.
E
dmund Campion (1540 – 1581) was an English Roman Catholic martyr and a Jesuit Priest.
Every tradition of Edmund Campion, every remnant of his
written words, and not least his golden letters, show us that he was nothing less than a man of genius; truly one of the great Elizabethans, but holy as none other of them all. Campion
inspires us in so many ways and we have strong links with our
local Jesuit Community based at Manresa House in Harbourne. Young Jesuit novices work with us on placement each year
to underpin Chaplaincy work and to promote the charisma of St Edmund Campion.
Inspired by Campion
We are proud to be Campionites
W
e aim to encourage all “Campionites to develop those same qualities, to live and work with others and enjoy
and achieve in our safe and supportive environment.
As a Catholic School, we celebrate the uniqueness of the
individual whilst also providing an inclusive, vibrant community where everyone can grow in the knowledge of Christ.
We have excellent facilities and highly skilled staff who benefit from our own training school. This means that your child
benefits from a quality innovative and inspirational education that will prepare them for future challenges.
The atmosphere of a school and its sense of community and
purpose are vital factors in how students develop. You can judge this best by visiting us on an ordinary working day, with your
son or daughter if you wish. I will be pleased to meet with you, and to arrange for current students to show you around.
There is so much happening here at St Edmund Campion School, that I would be delighted for your child to be part of its future. Headteacher
“The headteacher is very effective and enthusiastic… She has succeeded in building a team of staff who are committed to improving the learning of all students.” OfSTED 2011
“The contribution of pupils to the Catholic life of the school and collective worship and the extent to which they benefit from them are excellent. Diocesan Inspection 2012
Inspired by Faith
W
e actively seek to promote Gospel values and the
teachings of the Catholic Church as an integral part of our mission.
Jesus Christ is at the centre of all that we do at St Edmund
Campion. We provide opportunities for prayer, to celebrate Mass and to take part in assemblies. Students are encouraged to
become actively involved in promoting justice, peace and charity. Spiritual development is also fostered by participation in active retreats, mission weeks, pilgrimages and conference.
At the heart of all this work is a strong Catholic Life Faculty, all members of which see it as their ministry to contribute towards
leading the community in its central endeavour to know and love Christ.
