5. Cut into the tissue around the edge to create a fringe. Glue 4 of the flowers to a paper cup, put the rest inside the cup and match with a paper straw of the same colour.

5. Slide one end of the strip through one of the slits, fold flat and secure with glue. Allow to dry and do the same with the other side. Be sure to adjust the size as needed to fit your head. Now you are ready to solve problems just like Boy! 5

How to Bee – Rules of the Game Just like in the book How to Bee by Bren MacDibble, the bees are no longer around and it’s now our job to pollinate the flowers. Have your cup and straw at the ready as you prepare to transform into a bee and collect the flowers for pollination! This game can be played by 2 or more players. The aim of the game is to be the first person with all of your flowers in your cup. Sit in a circle with all the coloured flowers and the bee head band in the middle of the circle. Each player will have their cup and straw in front of them. Take turns rolling the die, starting in a clockwise direction. If you roll a Leaf: Reverse the direction of the game. If you roll a Flower: It is the next players turn to roll the die. If you roll a Bee: Quickly take your cup and straw and run to the centre of the circle. Put on the bee head band and then use your straw to pick up and transfer your coloured flower into your cup. You can not use your hands and must only use the straw by sucking and blowing to transfer the flowers. You can continue to collect flowers until somebody else rolls a Bee. At that point you must return to your seat to allow that player to come to the middle and start collecting their flowers. The first person to have all of their flowers in their cup is the bee champion!
