2. Use a glue gun to trace over the design. This will add texture to your book box! Adult supervision is recommended when using a glue gun. Allow to dry.

3. Use Mod Podge® to coat the front of your book box.

4. Place a sheet of paper towel over the front cover, while the Mod Podge® is wet. Secure it to the book box on the inside using a glue stick.

Ribbon Pack – 65g Pack – 10798

Pipe Cleaners – Assorted – 15cm – Pack of 1,000 – 13622

You can even use these spiders on their own as a decoration for Halloween!

1. Use an A4 sheet of cardboard to construct a cone-like shape. Use tape to secure the shape in place. Trim the bottom of the cone so that it has a flat base. Adult supervision is recommended when using scissors.

2. Place the cone in the centre of a paper plate (facing upwards) and trace around the bottom. The size of the circle will depend on the base size of the cone.

3. Using a box cutter, cut 5mm inwards from the trace line. This will be where you stick the top part of the hat. Adult supervision is recommended when using a box cutter.

4. Flip the paper plate over and align with the opening of the cone. Use sticky tape to attach the cone and the plate together from the inside.

5. Paint your entire hat black using CleverPatch™ acrylic black paint. Allow to dry.

6. Add ribbon around the base of the cone to decorate your hat. We have used a glue gun to help secure the ribbon. Adult supervision is recommended when using a glue gun.

7. Gather 4 brown pipe cleaners and fold them evenly in half. Cross the ends over and twist the pipe cleaners together, leaving a small loop in the top.

8. Bend each of the pipe cleaners upwards to create the spider’s legs. Use a glue gun to attach the wiggle eyes to your spider.

9. Repeat steps 7-8 for extra spiders. Glue the spiders to your Witch’s hat. Allow to dry. You can wear your hat or use it as a decoration!
