Koala Visor Materials: • Paper Plates – Large – 10775 • CleverPatch™ Acrylic Paint Tube Silver – 16887 • CleverPatch™ Acrylic Paint Tube Black – 16885 • Wiggle Eyes – Black – 2cm – Pack of 100 10817 • Cotton Balls – White – Pack of 110 – 11252 • Coloured Elastic – Pack of 4 – 14758 • Other Materials Required: Pencil, Glue, Hole Punch, Scissors
1. Place your paper plate face down. Draw a curved line to make the shape of a visor and then add on ears and a nose.
2. Cut around the curve and ears to reveal the visor shape. Adult supervision is recommended when using scissors.
3. Decorate the visor using silver paint as a base coat. Then add in the koalas features using the black paint.
4. Glue on some wiggle eyes to add character.
5. Glue cotton balls in the middle of the ears to give a soft, fuzzy texture.
6. Carefully fold the ears upwards so they stick up from the visor.
7. Use the hole punch to create a hole on both sides of the visor towards the back.
8. Cut a piece of elastic and tie it through the holes to create a strap for your head.
9. Your visor is now ready to wear! Adjust the elastic as needed to fit your head securely.

Do you know what noise a Kookaburra makes? Can you jump like a kangaroo? Or snap like a crocodile? Use the activity dice to create a fun game that will help you learn about some of the unique fauna that call Australia home.
1. Print out the Aussie Animal Activity Dice template onto cover paper. This will provide a great surface for decorating.
2. Colour in your template using colourful markers.
3. Carefully cut out the template. Adult supervision is recommended when using scissors.
4. Fold the template along the dotted lines to form a cube. Use glue on the flaps and gently push together to hold in place.

Origami Fortune Cookies Materials: • • •

Messages of good fortune are the perfect way to celebrate Chinese New Year and wish your loved ones the best for the future!
1. Trace the top of a paper cup onto the white side of your origami paper to create circles. Cut your circles out. Adult supervision is recommended when using scissors.
2. With the pattern facing up, fold the circle in half from bottom to top. Run your finger along the fold to create a crease.
3. Unfold your circle and flip it over so the white side is facing up. The line you’ve just folded should be horizontal. Fold the circle in half again, right side to left.
4. Holding the curved edge between the fingers of your left hand, use the index finger of your right hand to gently push in at the centre of the folded edge.
5. With the right index finger pushing in, use your other fingers to pull the edges down to form the traditional cookie shape.
6. The paper will want to pop open so give a gentle squeeze with your left hand on either side of the fold. It should now hold its shape.
7. Cut a strip of paper approximately 1 x 10cm long and write a message of fortune using a fine tip pen.
8. Unravel your folded cookie, place the message inside.
9. Re-fold the cookie so your message is now in place. This is the best way to put the message inside as the cookie should fold back easily. Now your cookie is ready for giving!

During Chinese New Year, a lot of red & gold is used. Red represents good luck, joy and happiness whilst gold is considered the most beautiful of colours.
1. Print out the paper hat template onto cover paper and carefully cut out using scissors. Adult supervision is recommended when using scissors.
2. Decorate your template using oil pastels. Use Glitter Liquid Watercolour for the big spaces and Glitter Glue to add extra sparkle.
3. Once dry, glue your template onto your cardboard oriental hat and assemble.
4. Use glue to carefully attach a gold pom pom to the top of the hat. Allow to dry.
5. Punch a hole in either side of your hat and tie a length of ribbon to each side making sure it’s long enough to tie under your chin.
6. Celebrate Chinese New Year in style with your beautiful new hat!

Driver was a real dog who accompanied four Field Company Engineers as a mascot when they left Australia during the First World War. He liked to sit on his owners feet and loved to chase rats in the trenches. Want to learn more about Driver ? You can read all about him on the Australian War Memorial website (www.awm.gov.au).
1. Print out the template of Driver the Dog onto cover paper to decorate. Don’t forget to colour both front and back of the head shape.
2. Cut out the body and head shapes from your template. Adult supervision is recommended when using scissors.
4. Glue along the top curve of the body and secure to complete your body shape.
5. Finally glue the head onto the body. You can tilt it to the side a little to create a cute puppy dog look. Now he is ready to play!

Pigeons were used for communication during the war because they are silent, difficult to intercept, not significantly affected by gas or noise and can be trained to return home to mobile lofts. 1. Print out the template onto cover paper to decorate. Write a message of thanks to your service men and women. Cut out your templates. Adult supervision is recommended when using scissors.
2. Fold your cover paper with a concertina fold. Fold back and forth to create a fan.
4. Roll your message into a scroll and thread it through the bottom hole of your pigeon.
5. Thread some twine through the top hole for hanging and place a wiggle eye on each side of your pigeons face. Now your pigeon is ready to display.
