Dad can fish any time and anywhere with this handy travel sized fishing game!

Choose as many colours as you need for the amount of players you have. 1. Choose 4 different coloured chenille stems and wind them around a scratch board tool. Bend and twist a loop at the end to create the fishing rods.

2. Paint your spools the same colours as your fishing rods & allow to dry. Attach to the rods with corresponding coloured metallic yarn.

3. Cut circles out of the magnetic strip and stick to the end of each spool. Glue dots can be used for a more permanent bond.

4. Create a simple fish template. Use the foam and cut out 8 fish for each colour as well as 8 small pieces of magnetic strip. Peel off the adhesive and then join the two magnet strips back-to-back.

5. Peel off the adhesive of 2 of the same coloured fish. Place the magnet strip inside the mouth of one fish, then place the other fish shape on top to seal it. The magnet should stick out of the fish’s mouth. Repeat for the remaining fish.

6. Create a design for your game on the front of the cotton bag using the fabric markers. Place all the pieces of your game into the bag ready for Dad to play!

6. Take another saved end piece and position on top of the peg like a nose. Trim if needed and attach with glue. Allow to dry.

2. Cut 2 pieces of straw, 7cm long and attach to the construction foam using the hot glue gun.

3. Thread a skewer through the straw and then a spool onto each end of the skewer. Trim the pointy end and put aside for later.

4. Use the hot glue gun to stick a button on each end of the skewer and allow to dry. Repeat steps 3 and 4 so there are 2 sets of wheels.

5. Cut a strip of cover paper 6 x 21cm. Starting from one end use a ruler to fold at 4, 8 and 19cm marks. Use the tape to attach the paper to the foam at the small end fold.

6. Now it’s attached at one end, flip the paper strip over as shown and attach the other end’s fold to the foam base using tape.

7. Take the trimmed skewers that were put aside and create flags by cutting a 2 x 6cm strip of cover paper. Fold it in half around the skewer and secure with tape.

8. Use a pin or sewing needle to carefully create a hole in the top back edge of the car roof. Slide the flags into these holes and you’re ready to race!
