MAIN ENTRANCE
We’ve seen a great quality of customer today and received some good feedback. Trade Days is an exhibition that no one else is doing at the moment – there’s nothing else like it. It’s quite a small industry so it’s really the same faces looking for new products, and an opportunity to network. Trade Days is the only place where retailers can come and dedicate their time to chat with us, trial our new products and hear what’s coming next.
Theo Sawford, Marketing Manager, Pride Mobility
In just a few weeks, Trade Days will be back for its fourth year bringing with it new and exciting features across the two unmissable days. As one of the industry’s leading trade-only event, you’ll find no end users allowing you the opportunity to have uninterrupted time with the people you need to meet. Our show floor not only provides the chance for you to source innovative products and witness new launches exclusive only to Trade Days, but you will also get the opportunity to test out some of the mobility sectors exciting products in our brand new Product Demo Zone. We also are working with our Hospitality Partner, Drive Devilbiss Healthcare to provide our visitors with some tasty breakfast and afternoon tea treats. The impressive line-up in our ‘How-To’ Arena sessions will give you invaluable insight into marketing your business more effectively and generating new business at very little cost while still keeping those all-important customers happy and consistently coming back. The free 30-minute seminars will cover a wide range of pertinent industry ‘How To’ and leave you walking away with more knowledge and real practical advice to grow your business and stand out from your competitors. Hear from Director of DPS Associates, Dave Sutton, on the easiest ways to build your business and learn how to look after your existing customers so they want to buy more from you in the future. You can also listen to David Glenwright, Social Media Trainer at JC Social Media who will be running seminars across both days on how to utilise social media to reach out to your target audience, generate more leads, and give you confidence that your marketing budget isn’t squandered on irrelevant prospects. This year at Trade Days we are also offering delegates the opportunity to sit down with fellow visitors to discuss your experiences, debate any challenges facing your business and address any questions you might have with a small, intimate group of like-minded individuals while enjoying the benefit of leading industry knowledge and experience from the session
facilitator. Each session will have a pre-determined theme, and all places are bookable on a first come, first served basis on the day.
Trade Days is the only exhibition for our customer base. We’re here primarily to show some new products, and pick up new customers. At exhibitions we can show a lot of products in one place which we can’t really do during the rest of the year with vehicle trips.
Mark Diaj, Managing Director, Able2
A must see at the show this year is our new Product Demo Zone where you are able to see brand new products in action. The industry’s leading companies will be showing off the latest products and you’ll have a chance to get hands-on! Time and again, visitors comment on Trade Day’s unique, fresh approach and relevancy compared to other industry shows. With hundreds of likeminded professionals, the event gives delegates and exhibitors alike the time and space to truly meet with the all the people who matter, away from the daily hustle and bustle. With so much going on, our Event Director Derek MacHale suggests bringing the whole team along to make both days at the event really worthwhile: ‘We would encourage anyone planning to come to the show to spread the word, the whole team can benefit from attending seminars of interest as well as conversations with suppliers and demonstrations of equipment.’ We know doing business is an important part of all delegates visits to Trade Days, but we still want you to enjoy the time you spend with us and have a bit of fun, so we have waved our magical wand and organized a renowned magician and illusionist to dazzle you throughout the two days of the show. Also, don’t forget to keep an eye out for the Trade Days Travelling Tombola that will be roaming the show floor throughout the two days giving our visitors the chance to get their hands on some exciting prizes! If you haven’t already signed up for this year’s free entry event, register today at www.tradedays.co.uk/newspaper
BRING 3 OR MORE OF YOUR TEAM TO TRADE DAYS AND BE IN WITH THE CHANCE OF WINNING £125 FOR A TEAM NIGHT OUT, OR BRING 4 FOR A CHANCE TO WIN £400! If you sign up 4 or more delegates from your work organisation you will be entered into a draw to win £125 at the show for you to use on a team night out.

Trade Days promises a tasty two day treat
5 easy ways to make the most of your Trade Days visit
Trade Days is set to be a real treat for visitors this year. Apart from the opportunity to meet with around 100 existing and potential suppliers all in one place, take advantage of some great exclusive show trade deals and sit in a series of very business focussed seminar sessions, visitors won’t have to worry about what’s for breakfast, lunch or a snack in the afternoon – it’s all being laid on for them on a plate!
1
Give yourself plenty of time. Don’t get caught out and miss talking with someone you could be getting a great deal from. Be aware, the trade-only environment encourages longer, more in depth, business discussions!
Show Manager Derek MacHale says that providing the hospitality area for all visitors is a natural progression for the trade-only event. “With our 100% trade audience, we can tailor our features and offer our visitors what is going to benefit them most. We know from research that retailers coming to the show in the past have been surprised just how detailed and lengthy some of the discussions they have with existing and potential suppliers have been and so anything that means they don’t have to think about taking time out to find somewhere to eat will help them get even more out of their visit.”
2
Take a good look at the seminar programme. The free, 30 minute sessions cover a wide variety of subjects but have all been designed especially for businesses like your own.
3
Bring your team. It’s a great opportunity for your staff to meet team members from your suppliers, hold conversations and get demonstrations of equipment. They will also benefit from attending our sessions focused on their role or covering the sessions you cannot get to.
4
Attend both days. If you are able, take the opportunity to stay overnight on the Sunday. Spending both days at the show will give you time to do so much more!
5
Plan ahead. Contact the suppliers you want to meet up with before the show opens. Schedule a time slot with them to make sure you get to spend time with them.
Apart from the free hospitality package, Derek believes that anyone coming to the show will find all the other features appetising too. “They’ll be plenty of things going on to make the day even more worthwhile and fun too. We have 8 new features at the show this year, but the focus remains firmly on doing business. Trade Days is the only place the trade can go where they know that they will be able to openly talk business and where every exhibitor is looking to work with retailers to build their businesses.”
Anyone who registers for the show will receive a verification link which they can click to confirm their attendance.

Derek MacHale Hello, my name is Derek MacHale and I have taken over as Show Manager of Trade Days! The team here are hugely excited for all the stunning new features that you’ll be seeing this year. Trade Days is the only event in Europe where every single exhibitor is looking to do business with companies like your own – you won’t be walking past endless stands that are not relevant for your business. I’ll see you at the show.

HOW-TO ARENA SESSIONS Sunday 8th October 10:15 10:45
How to get a slice of the ‘signposting market’ – working with the companies that can bring you customers Think that because you are a local retailer, you can’t win business in the Community Equipment marketplace? Think again. More and more, customers are being ‘signposted’ to a trusted supplier and if you are on the list, then it could generate a seriously useful source of retail business. Andrew Stevenson - Sales Director - NRS
11:15 11:45
How to recruit top people to your team When you are looking to add to your team, how do you decide which people to interview? What are the key questions you should be asking and what clues should you be looking for during an interview? Antony Elkington - Managing Director - Trusted Recruiter
12:15 12:45
How to use words, images and videos to get a customers’ attention Good, effective marketing doesn’t need to be expensive. By using words and images in the right way online and offline, any business, from the smallest retailer to the largest multinational, can get in front of customers without spending an arm and leg. Learn how. Calvin Barnett - Editor - THIIS Magazine
13:15 13:45
How to do precision marketing with social media A common trend with social media marketing is to focus on going viral and generating as many impressions as possible, however one of the most powerful aspects of social media is the ability to reach out to and engage with people who fit a very specific profile. This session looks at a number of techniques that can be used, including some that are free, in order to not only identify but reach out and engage with precisely the people that you want to, giving you the confidence in knowing that your marketing budget isn’t being squandered on irrelevant prospects. David Glenwright - Social Media Trainer - JC Social Media

15:15 15:45
How to turn your customers into your sales people and generate new business at very little cost Why would you pay £100’s for a sales lead when you can generate them for almost nothing? By following some very simple steps, you can produce sales enquiries by building a big salesforce using one of your most important assets – your customer base. David Russell - THIIS Magazine How to look after a customer so that they keep coming back The easiest way to build your business is to sell more to your existing customers, but how do you make sure that they want to buy more from you in the future. You’ll learn how in this session. Dave Sutton - Director - DPS Associates

How to get your product accepted by the Community Equipment Providers and into their catalogues If you have a product that you think should be part of the range offered as part of the community equipment contracts, but are not sure how to go about getting it listed in the catalogues of the major providers, then this session is for you. Andrew Stevenson - Sales Director - NRS How to get the most out of social media and make it work for your business Whether you are using Social Media every day or you are just thinking about whether it could help you grow your business, in this session you’ll discover how you can use it to generate new leads and connect to your existing customers without spending a great deal. David Glenwright - Social Media Trainer - JC Social Media How to mentor and coach your team members so that they are happy and successful in their jobs Whether it’s product knowledge, company procedures, meeting objectives, interacting with customers and fellow colleagues or understanding the company strategy and plans, everyone benefits from good guidance and advice. This brief session does not aim to give you all of the answers, however it will provide you with useful tips and suggestions to take back to your companies as to how to go about coaching and mentoring your most important asset-your staff. David Beavis - Managing Director - Medismart How to tell the story of your brand so that customers want to buy from you and not your competitors Every business had a brand. It’s a name, a look, the way you do business. But how do you get the message across to your customers that you are the people to buy from? Learn how to personalise your customer’s experience, stand out from the crowd and make sure that your customer knows that you have a real business, run by real people, offering real value. Gail Gibson - Managing Director - Gailgibson How to stay on the right side of the law There are a number of ways that a business in our marketplace could break the law as rules and regulations tighten. Presented by someone whose job it is to know the things that are changing in the future and highlight all the important stuff you need to know to keep on the right side of the law. Peter Stonely - Managing Director - Stonely Training How to communicate effectively with all your customers, no matter what age they are If you are good at what you do, these days you could keep a customer for 20, 30 or even 40 years. This session will explain how to engage with customers at an earlier stage than is traditionally the case within the mobility/independent living sector. David Silver - Director - Years Ahead How to know how good or bad your marketing is in just 30 minutes In just 30 minutes you’ll get a very good idea about whether you are really on the ball when it comes to marketing your business, or whether you are missing out on some very simple, low cost but very effective ways to promote and sell. David Russell - THIIS Magazine

How to beat your competitors – come to Trade Days! How to do things better, more cost-effectively, differently and so that you increase sales and margins – that’s what’s on offer this year in the all-new ‘How To Arena’ at Trade Days. All through both days, 30 minute sessions will focus on the really important things that a business needs to do – get more customers, talk to them in the right way, keep more customers, develop the best team, recruit the best people and much more. make sure you go to Anthony Elkington’s session on Sunday. Anthony’s company, Trusted Recruiter, specialises in recruitment in our industry and he will be revealing all the questions you really should be asking. Sunday also sees Calvin Barnett, Editor of THIIS trade magazine talking about how to use words and images in the right way to generate enquiries and new business and David Glenwright of JC Social Media will show you a number of social media techniques that can be used, including some that are free, to identify and engage with precisely the people that you want to.
If you want to know how to get a slice of the Community Equipment marketplace, then there are two sessions on offer, one for retailers and another for suppliers. On the Sunday, retailers will learn how they can position themselves to generate business from the sector while on Monday suppliers will find out how they can get their products selected. Both sessions will be presented by Andrew Stevenson, Sales Director of NRS. Andrew knows as much as anyone about the Community Equipment marketplace and will be steering both retailers and suppliers in the right direction. If you want to know how to go about interviewing candidates so that you end up with the right person in the team, then
David Russell will explain the very simple steps that will help you produce sales enquiries by building a big salesforce using your customer base. He’ll be showing examples of how companies in the industry are getting the most from customer testimonials. And David Sutton will concentrate on how you keep your customer after you have done all the hard work to get them in the first place. On the Monday, sessions include David Beavis, Managing Director of Medismart talking about how you can manage and coach your team members so that they are happy and successful in their jobs and Gail Gibson will be explaining how you can tell the story of your brand so that customers want to buy from you and not your competitors.
With legislation changing constantly, Peter Stonely of Stonely Training will be providing all the answers to how to stay on the right side of the law. No matter how big or how small your business is, Peter will be talking about rules and regulations that you need to be aware of. These days, it isn’t just the product user who is a customer, but frequently relatives and younger members of a family. With that in mind, David Silver of Years Ahead will cover how to communicate effectively with all your customers, no matter what age they are. Finally, David Russell promises a ‘real eye-opener’ with a session entitled How to know how good or bad your marketing is in just 30 minutes. David will be asking the questions that will give you a very good idea whether you are really on the ball when it comes to marketing your business, or whether you are missing out on some very simple, low cost but very effective ways to promote and sell. This year the educational programme is focussed on one very simple concept – how to do things. Why not bring your team members along to the show so that they can sit in sessions that are guaranteed to provide you some great ideas to help you in the future.
