Register for free now www.thedentistryshow.co.uk/np Comprised of internationally renowned speakers, diverse topics and hours of verifiable CPD, the educational programme at next year’s Dentistry Show is definitely set to impress. Regardless of what role you play within the practice, you can be sure to find an array of lectures, hands-on workshops, live demonstrations and on-stand learning relevant to your field of work, with the chance to network and have fun all at the same time. Heralded in the past as one of the great highlights of the event, the Aesthetic Dentist Conference will pull out all the stops in 2016, with Dr Elaine Halley as the Chair for

the next highly anticipated event. She comments: “I was delighted to take over the role of Chair for this conference from Chris Orr, who shared with me his very positive experiences from the past few years. I have also spoken at The Dentistry Show in the past myself, so I was pleased to be able to get involved in this way.” Elaine, like Chris, is also a Past President of the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and is accredited by the Academy. She holds a Masters in Aesthetic and Restorative Dentistry from the University of Manchester, which she passed with distinction, and runs two private practices in Scotland that attract patients from across the country. Sharing our passion for excellent education and training, Elaine gives us a taste of what delegates can expect from the Aesthetic Dentist Conference 2016. “I’m very excited to present this great line-up of speakers who’ll be exploring a broad variety of subjects. We will also be bringing the digital and CAD/ CAM aspects of dentistry under the spotlight, demonstrating how relevant these technologies and workflows are to the general Dr Elaine Halley aesthetic dentist.” “Our outstanding speakers will include Florin Cofar visiting from Romania, who will be discussing CAD/CAM and digital smile design and how

it can be used in general practice. Roberto Spreafico will take this further by looking at CAD/ CAM relating to treatment of the posterior teeth. In my own lecture, I will consider how we can capture effective digital images and utilise them for enhanced treatment planning.” “It’s about bringing the digital age within the realms of the GDP who has an interest in aesthetic dentistry. It doesn’t matter how much previous experience delegates have with modern digital technologies, or indeed whether they have access to advanced CAD/ CAM equipment in their practice – we will show how anyone can start to integrate the digital workflow. Even simple technologies such as digital cameras can be used and many dentists will also work with dental laboratories that employ CAD/CAM systems, so we’ll be demonstrating how they can still access the benefits of digital technology and what they should look out for as they progress.” “In contrast, Professor Trevor Burke will be speaking continues on page 2

Keeping the fun in dentistry Always keen to support the dental profession, organisations and charities, we are delighted to confirm that Bridge2Aid will return to The Dentistry Show in 2016. Bringing its famous ‘Summer Fete’ stand back to the trade floor, Bridge2Aid will ensure you have fun whilst raising awareness of a hugely worthwhile cause. Paul Tasman, Fundraising and Manager at Bridge2Aid, comments:

Communications

“The Dentistry Show 2015 was fantastic – fun, busy and well-organised. The event was really buzzing with lots of old friends and plenty of new faces. We had lots of people come and join us at the ‘Bridge2Aid Summer Fete’, taking the opportunity to get a bit silly, take five minutes out and have an ice cream!” “The show provided an ideal chance to tell a lot of

people about the work that we do training rural health workers to deliver emergency dentistry in some of the poorest parts of the world. These conversations are enormously important because it means that we can engage with the profession and give them the opportunities to get involved with our work.” Bridge2Aid aims to make at least basic dental care a reality for some of the three quarters of the world’s population that doesn’t even have access to simple dental pain relief. The charity has run life-changing programmes throughout East Africa for several years now, training local Clinical Officers to provide the dental treatment that is so desperately needed in rural communities. UK dental professionals have the opportunity to visit these

projects and contribute their own skills to help educate the local people, perform basic dental procedures and support the local Clinical Officers so that they can continue the work for years to come. “We are looking forward to returning in 2016 to continue spreading the word,” continues Paul. “Our work is important and we want to tell people about what we do. We’re going full on for the fun again and that means games and ice cream! Our charity does something wonderful – takes away people’s pain – so a little celebration and fun seems fitting. We’re all about positivity!” “So I’d like to encourage everyone to come and talk to us, say hello and ask about what we do. If you’re intrigued or excited by what you find out then we’ll take it from there. We’re looking forward to meeting you!” Secure your free pass to The Dentistry Show, visit www.thedentistryshow.co.uk/np
