In the picturesque pedestrianized center of Deskati, you will wander through the narrow streets and admire the Church of Patron Saints

Constantine and Helen, as well as the remains of Turkish barracks (“kouslas”), located at the western side of the entrance to Deskati from Grevena. Very close to the central square lies the oldest oak tree in Europe, aged about 1.300 years.

The city’s Folklore Museum revives memories from the past. Right next to it, you have the opportunity to visit the “Antonis I. Petsas” Art and Culture venue which hosts works of the internationally renowned painter Christos Bouronikos, while outside the urban fabric, the Monastery of Zavorda, the Monastery of Torniki, the Monastery of the Transfiguration of the Savior in Dasochori and the Church of Saint Demetrios at Gilofos will cause you awe with their Byzantine glory.
