LTG Letter Happy June Region 15! Summer is almost here but of course we have finals to do first. I wish everyone the best of luck with all your tests! For everyone who attended the May DCM and/or OTC, thank you all so much! I hope that if you went, you had fun and learned something new. Next month, we will be having our June DCM on June 24, 2017.We will be holding it outside but, do not worry, it will still be fun! We will be doing a quick color run and park clean up before the DCM. If you attended the May DCM, pledge bags to collect money for Eliminate were handed out. If you did not attend, feel free to make your own pledge bags or just collect money without the pledge bags, but be sure to let everyone know that you are collecting for the Eliminate Project. Please remember that Key Club does not shut down in the summer and that we will still be holding DCMs so your club should try to attend. Take the extra time this summer to plan some socials with your club to get to know each other better along with some service events. If you have any questions about anything, please feel free to contact me anytime! As always, thank you all for allowing me to serve you as your Lieutenant Governor.

New Elections and Bright Futures BY: PAOLA RAMIREZ|PINER Piner’s newly elected officers recently held their first Board meeting on Wednesday, May 3, 2017. Newly elected secretary, Jennifer Lee, took minutes and wrote fundraising ideas. During the Board meeting the officers planned fundraising ideas like bake sales, selling D32 buttons, and a boba event. Our current focus is getting approved to sell food and drinks during graduation. We are also making posters for our graduating Key Club seniors Fernando Becerra, Jasmine Alvarez, Lauren Lau, Tiffany Lee, and Fatima Aguilar

The DCON Experience BY:ANNA TAGGESELL|SONOMA VALLEY Below we have the Key Club members who attended the District Convention where they learned about Key Club and leadership skills. The Sonoma Key Club went to Anaheim, California for their conference. We had fun bonding with other Key Club members from other divisions and meeting new people. This experience has made us better leaders and has shown us how to improve our home club. We went to numerous workshops and listened to speakers who taught us different ways to improve our clubs.
"THIS EXPERIENCE MADE THEM BETTER LEADERS"
Teacher Appreciation Week BY: ANAHI RUIZ|CLOVERDALE We all love our teachers, these people we see every day at school, the people who share their wisdom with us and try to help us to make the right choices. Well, there is a week in May every year that’s called, “National Teacher Appreciation Week”. It is a time to show them in some small way how much we thank them for all they do. Our club decided to make little gift bags to show how much we appreciate our teachers, and that is exactly what we did. At our weekly meeting we streaked chocolate over “coconut rolls” and then we got together and made treat bags for the teachers. The “goodie” bags consisted of sweets and yummy treats that the teachers could snack on throughout their day.
Being Earth Conscious BY: JACOB BENTHAM|CARDINAL N. With AP testing and the end of the year coming up, Cardinal Newman Key Club has still found time to be active! Incoming officers Kabir Daniels and Lucas Loughner recently attended a park clean up at Sugarloaf Regional Park on Earth Day! Most recently we have spent a
lot of time training our new incoming officers (including me!) on how to best run Key Club! We are continuing to plan future service events and already have many members signed up to help at this year's Giro Bello Bike fundraiser! Stay tuned for more amazing Cardinal Newman Key Club volunteer events!
Leadership in the Community!
BY: SOLARA YOUNG DJ BARRIE|SANTA L.A. WORLD ROSA TOUR
"We sold a record-breaking 100 tickets at the boy's game and 63 at the girl's" This month in Santa Rosa’s Key Club many events have been available to our members. The month started off with six members heading off to the YMCA phone night on two different nights, April 4th and 13th. These volunteers helped raise money for scholarships to the YMCA summer camps and other summer programs. They enjoyed helping out the community and some complimentary pizza after a hard day's work. The next event we participated in was the Senior Soccer All-Star Game at Santa Rosa High on April 15th. We had nine members show up and help out. They helped sell donation drawing tickets to raise money for Kiwanis and even got in on some of the action of the soccer game by helping the goalies keep track of the extra ball to keep the game moving along. We sold a record breaking 100 tickets at the boy's game and 63 at the girl's. Overall, it was a successful night for soccer and raising money. Lastly, at the end of this month we had our two new co-presidents go to Key Leader on April 28-
30th. It was a wonderful weekend full of awesome leadership opportunities and making new friends. Overall, this month has been inundated with many different volunteer opportunities and we are finishing the school year strong.
New Leaders Big Transition BY: NATALIE LASKER|MARIA CARILLO We have not had that many volunteer opportunities this past month because of Prom and the alumni activities. We did recently participated in an alumni walk at the school and many of us volunteered! We also have a few volunteer opportunities coming up at Howarth Park that our club is extremely excited about!
Easter With Kiwanis! BY: GISELLE CUEVAS|WINDSOR This past month has been a very successful month for the Windsor High School Key Club. On April 15th we helped the Windsor Kiwanis with an Easter Egg Hunt held at the high school, and it was a success. It was very rewarding to see the smiles on the children’s faces.
An Explosion of Service! BY: DANAYEAT ABRAHA|MONTGOMERY Montgomery High School Key Club had an explosion of service in the past month and the members had a blast doing the activities! In April, we participated in the March for Babies with our division! This was a race that raises money and awareness to decrease the amount of babies born premature! We had a blast making a balloon arch, face painting children, and running around picking up signs after the race. We also had 2 members attend Key Leader! I was one of them and personally it was the best leadership experience I have ever had. I learned so much and made so many new friends! In May, we helped out at the Human Race with our Kiwanis as course monitors. This is a race that raised money for nonprofit organizations all throughout Sonoma County! Overall it was a great month filled with service, laughter, and new friendships and I can't wait for more!
