LTG Letter Hello Region 15! Can you believe a month of summer has gone by? I hope your summer has been going spectacularly! As summer continues, each club should continue to plan at least three service events per month. Please also try your best to gather members to attend division events because there are a lot of fun events being planned. Also, don’t forget to submit a t-shirt design! The chosen design will be on the shirt we will all be wearing to many events. Next month, Cloverdale will be hosting our July DCM on July 15, 2017 at Lake Sonoma. Be prepared for a fun-filled day! Clubs should also use this summer to jump-start their PTP fundraising. If you have any questions about anything, please feel free to contact me anytime! As always, thank you all for allowing me to serve you as your Lieutenant Governor.

Food Sales For Eliminate BY: ANA-SOLANO|PINER 0The end of the school year has arrived! On June 2, 2017 Piner Key Club sold food and drinks during graduation. Many of our Key Clubbers donated water, chips, candy, soda, and popsicles. Treasurer Andrea Romero was able to get donations from both Raley's and Safeway. Selling during graduation was very successful we made around $800. We plan on donating some of the profit to The Eliminate Project.

Vamos a Nadar BY: NATALIE LASKER|MARIA CARRILLO This past month we have done a lot as a club. We recently had club food day at our school and it was a huge success and we raised a good amount of money from that. We also volunteered at an event called "Vamos a Nadar"; this is a Sonoma County event where many kids and their parents can show up to get swim lessons and just have fun. It was great to see the community be happy doing something so simple but yet so amazing for the community. Our club has a fair amount of students who are in a program called New Gen and this is a peace-building actions program. They work with a lot with issues that have a need for attention, and they try to find long term solutions by working on a project for couple of months and then they present it to officials in hopes of getting it approved. It is a great program; and it's really perfect for bonding, learning about our community and it's needs and issues. It has been an amazing few weeks and we will keep up the good club work.

A Month of Celebration BY: LIZETH MACIAS|SANTA ROSA With school coming to an end the Santa Rosa High Key Club decided to have a banquet in May. This banquet was to celebrate the hard work our members put in throughout the year and to discuss some of our favorite events for which we had the opportunity to volunteer. We discussed plans for the future and encouraged members to stay active in the club during the summer. Also we sent our newly elected officers to Officer’s Training Conference, on May 13th, where they learned the roles of their new positions.

A Month With Kiwanis and Service

"Our club also volunteered at the central library to hand out free lunches to children 18 and under."

This past month Montgomery High School has been really active with the Oakmont Kiwanis. In May we volunteered at the food bank with the Oakmont Kiwanis and had an amazing time. Together we packaged canned food and bread, making a difference in our community. In June we not only volunteered to help serve drinks and hand out tickets for the donation drawing at their annual Pancake Breakfast but also made 12 baskets that were to be raffled off at the event. Past and incoming members had an amazing time socializing with the Kiwanians! Our club also volunteered at the central library to hand out free lunches to children 18 and under. It was an overall rewarding experience helping to set up for this event and hand out food to those who truly needed it. In June our club officers held an officer bonding night, too! We tie-died shirts, did an obstacle course and a scavenger hunt. This is also where we made the raffle baskets for the pancake breakfast! In June we also worked alongside Windsor Key Club to volunteer at the Hot Air Balloon Show.

We helped inflate the hot air balloons and take them down and it was an incredibly cool experience. Before school let out we also sold Boba after school to raise money for ICON and we sold water bottles at graduation and made over $500 in profit for PTP! This past month we have truly grown as a club and personally I look forward to many more experiences like this.

8th Grade Promotion BY: GABRIELA GAONA|CLOVERDALE On Thursday, June 1st the Washington Middle School held their promotion of eighth graders. Four of our Key Club members set up a stand and sold water and Hershey’s Kisses in order to help fundraise for the Kiwanis Eliminate Project. It turned out to be a very hot day to sell ice cold water; and it was a success. Many people came back for seconds and were happy that we were there. We made a lot of sales and watched some of our incoming Key Clubbers promote. We raised $130 for the Eliminate cause.

Service Service Service! BY: UNKNOWN|WINDSOR On day of the Cinco de Mayo celebration we sold chiles rellenos, tamales, tortas, aguas frescas and ended up making $300 for the Eliminate Project in just three hours! Not only this, but the next day at the Windsor parade we helped clean up the Town Green throughout the event, and we also held a hot dog sale and were able to make an additional $500. This month was a very successful month for the Windsor High school Key Club! On Saturday, May 13th, Windsor High School Key Club, along with the rest of the clubs that form part of the division, had their May DCM at the Windsor Methodist Church. There we discussed about our future events and possible fundraising ideas, not only this but, we made scented heating pads as a division service project. On Sunday, June 4, Windsor High School Key Club had a hot dog sale at Les Schwab Tires and we made $220. It was a great way to get up-to-date with the members and plan new fundraising events.
