CNH I K E Y C L U B Cloverdale High School

CNH RECOGNITION FOR OFFICER/MEMBER WORK: Several of our officers have been working all year to serve you. They don’t get service recognition, or Key Club Bucks for what they do. They only get the satisfaction of knowing they helped all of you to have a better Key Club experience. However, they do have the opportunity to earn CNH recognition for their work, assuming they enter the contest that applies to their position, and they do the application/work required. The following officers MIGHT receive Distinguished status for their work this past year: • Rowan Addison – for our club newsletters. (An application was required) • Alexis Sanchez – for our club scrapbook. (She’ll take the book to DCON) • Miguel Gonzalez & Alex Visconti – for our club website. (It’s been judged over the past several months) The following members have also applied for CNH Distinguished recognition • •

Kayla Gallego – Member of the Year. (An application was required) Lilly Duran – for our Save the Rain Project. (An application was required)

STEPPING UP OUR SERVICE THIS MONTH: We are asking our members to work extra hard this month to provide service. This is the last month to officially record our service to CNH for the 2018-19 Key Club year. We need just a few more hours and projects to become a Diamond Distinguished Club. This is a GREAT honor. Only about 1% of the clubs in the ENTIRE WORLD earn this award! So, we’re adding a few extra projects; and we’re adding the opportunity to do service at home, on your own time! (See next page)

CHANGE IN DATE: • •

Advisor Sue has to help her daughter move this month and will be in So-Cal from February 23rd to March 1st. This means that we need to change the date of our Member Recognition Event. o The new date will be Tuesday, February 19th, at lunchtime in Room 1 o All members should be there. New members will receive their International Certificate, Membership Card and a gift from our club. Experienced members will also be receiving recognition. o A pizza meal will be provided. Despite her being gone, we will still hold our freerice.com Night at Advisor Stephen’s house, 552 Port Circle, from 5-7 p.m. The Builders Clubbers will also be there. Everyone is asked to bring their Chrome Book. The meeting for Monday, February 25th will still be held and it will be a service project meeting. We’ll be bagging up toiletry items to give to the homeless.

NEW: WORK AT HOME •

We have Neidi to thank for this idea…. giving members the opportunity to increase their service on their own time, and at their own convenience. Eventually, we’ll have supplies available for members to pick up at meetings and take home with them each week. On the next page we’re providing you with a list of possible projects you might do. But, some of them need specific supplies. There is a bit of organizing still to do, so those activities needing supplies won’t be doable this month. Meanwhile, the first couple of projects are doable without special supplies. To be Diamond Distinguished, we are asking that EVERY member do at least ONE HOUR each week this month of one or more of the listed projects. PLEASE help us out this way!
