rom my January article I introduced you to "Paleo Diet". One of the fastest growing diet is now a lifestyle to some, Let us live how our ancestors lived before and you will see results and feel stronger ,healthier and look better. The simplest form of diet where you don't have to count calories, remove the fear of fat, and know that eating fat helps you burn more fat. And in our topic for this month we will talk about "Bacon". I know most of you, specially our loyal readers will agree that everyone loves "Bacon". Yes we are going to talk about bacon! What?! Isn't that full of fat? All that fatty oil you see dripping every time you lift bacon away from your plate... How can that be healthy? Again, let me remind you that eating healthy fats help you burn more fats! Yes bacon is one of them because bacon helps you fully satiate your appetite with high protein/ low carb energy, helping the body lose weight, raise one's metabolism and build leaner, stronger muscles. Bacon actually has less total fat, saturated

fat and cholesterol than many popular cuts of beef and chicken. While some fish has less fat and cholesterol than bacon, bacon has more protein power and does not contain mercury unlike fish. But isn't bacon full of nitrates and nitrites? Have no fear because sodium nitrate when used as curing agent is converted as sodium nitrite and these sodium nitrite actually possesses the antimicrobial properties that make it a good preservative. Still scared of what you used to think was one of the reason that lead to heart disease? Well, you really shouldn't be. Infact there are studies that show that the omega-3 fatty acids and "choline" found in bacon can actually protect the heart from developing detrimental problems, as well as actually help heal such anomalies, after they have occured. But just a reminder choose bacon that are sold at local farmers market, they are healthier than those of the grocery store sold bacon.

Here are some reasons why you shouldn't fear bacon:

•Good fats help us not feel hungry as soon after eating

•Our lungs, eyes, organs, nerves and cells all function better with some healthy fat!

•Good fats are good for our hearts! They can reduce our triglycerides, lower our blood pressure, reduce blood clotting, and decrease the amount of plaque in our arteries.

•Burning fats for energy provide us with a more consistent level of energy than does burning carbohydrates. •Fat soluble vitamins (A, D, E, and K) can't be absorbed unless fat is present.

•Healthy fats reduce inflammation in our bodies. This includes the inflammation of rheumatoid arthritis.

Studied Dentistry in Centro Escolar University, married to a Japanese national named Hiroshi and a mother of two children namely Kenji and Hiroki. As a plain housewife living in Japan for 6 years since marriage, she never knew that this will challenge her and change her priorities and lifestyle to a successful career as an online seller. Eloy started selling her old stuff -personal items like branded clothes, jewelry and other items she wasn’t using anymore to an online Filipino community site in Japan. She enjoyed selling online, aside from money she made from her sales, she also met and became friends with most of her customers. She then decided to put up her own website www.kimadashoppe.com and in 2010 decided to make an official Facebook account for her online store with a starting capital of ¥200,000. What inspired you to start this business? What advice can you give to online seller who are just starting out? I believe that for an online business to succeed one must have patience and be always ready to give out good service to customers. In addition, as a seller one must be fair in trading so as to protect both the seller and the buyers. Offer assurance and instill confidence in wary buyers with online policies that are safe, fair and respectful. Set a schedule for work and STICK to it. Designate specific hours for working and updating your website or online profile, respond to customer comments, orders and inquiries promptly. Let them be aware that you are always there and ready for their needs. Internet businesses like online shops may seem easy and all fun, but most people don’t realize is that it is very challenging and since you have the entire online population as your marketplace it means you have a lot of potential customers as well as competition and should be ready to tackle both. What other business have you started? I recently started Networking. I believe that investing in my family’s health should be on top of our priorities that is why I decided to invest with one of the top health and science companies out there. As a new member, the payoff is not that blatant at first, but I am assured that I will be able to increase my income while at the same time keep my family healthy. We must first believe in our products and services before we can expect our customers to do so, that is why most of the items I sell I also buy one for myself for my personal use - same goes for my networking sideline. I really enjoy what I am doing now. Selling online has enabled me to meet a lot of my countrymen also living here in Japan and not only in Tokyo but the whole of Japan. As most of my customers can attest, they not only enjoy buying from my shop but most of them treasure the friendship that developed as well. This gives me a different identity, now I am a wife, a mom and an entrepreneur - all of this I cannot accomplish without the love of my family and trust of my online buyers.

RIKUGIEN Garden 六義園

Rikugien Garden (六義園) is a Tokyo metropolitan park in Bunkyō-ku. The name Rikugi comes from the idea of the six elements in wakapoetry (en means garden or park). The park consists of a small pond, trees, and a hill. The traditional Japanese garden within the park is a tourist attraction. The construction of the park took place between 1695 and 1702 and was headed by Yanagisawa Yoshiyasu by permission of the fifth shōgun Tokugawa Tsunayoshi and is a typical example of a garden from the Edo period. assumed it was also summer in Europe. I was right, but not the summer I expected. It was cold and autumn-ish. How can I survive the next 16 days having brought only summer clothes from Japan? And with that question in mind, my Europe trip began. First stop -- Copenhagen, Denmark. It was also my first time to meet an online friend and was expecting to see her carrying a placard of “Welcome Totomai” while waving a Danish flag. She didn’t. Boo! The following day marked the start of my walkathon days in Europe. If only I knew, I could have done some preparatory leg exercises. Walking around the city instead of taking a bus or train was way, way better and gave me the chance to see more of Europe. It's my first time to be on this side of the world, and I am not ashamed to say that I was in awe that I sometimes forgot to click my camera. First stop was at NY Carlsberg Glyptotek. Luckily for us, it was free admittance on a Sunday. The place was very interesting, it was home to thousand powerful

sculptures of ancient era. The past was well-represented and one should stay here for a day to appreciate all that's being showcased. Walking further, we were led to the Copenhagen's number 1 tourist attraction -- The Little Mermaid. The small statue was indeed popular as tourists and locals alike swarmed the area in order to get a souvenir shot with her. Me included. Tourists posed with wide grins on their faces but if you look closely, the mermaid's face is contemplative and hurting like that of a brokenhearted. No sympathy extended! On the way to above spot, we got to chance to have a glance on other tourist destinations. Among them is the Tivoli Gardens, one of the oldest amusement parks in the whole world. Should I go back to Copenhagen again, I will pay it a visit and will ride all the possible rides that may bring me to early 1900's. And there's the Amalienborg Palace. A part of it was under construction during walkathon stop-over. It was also the point of the cycling event thus the security was tight. We left after a few clicks. Nobody's really there except the royal guards marching from one end to the other. I initially planned to include more photos and places for this entry but I better not to. I'll let the curious ones visit Copenhagen and discover the other gems of the city. My few days in Copenhagen were well-spent and will always be remembered. ClichĂŠd as it may sound but this experience is already locked in my system. Frozen. Painted. I think I better stop as I keep on throwing one clichĂŠ to another. Or hand me another can of Carlsberg. Tak!

あなたも税金の還付申請対象者！！知らない人と差がつく！得する税金！？日本に住むフィリピン人、又は配偶者がフィリピン人の日本人は約９7%の方々に税金還付のチャンスが有るのを知っていますか！？

皆さんは日本に住む外国人も日本人と同じように所得税と住民税の還付申請ができるという話をご存知ですか？日本で働き日本の所得税と住民税を納めていて母国の家族や親戚に援助を行っていれば、一定の条件のもとその行為が「扶養」と認められ、税法上の優遇すなわち「扶養控除」の適用を受けることができるのです。最長で所得税・住民税それぞれ5年分の納め過ぎた税金が還付されるということです。では実際どのくらいの税金が還付されるのでしょうか？還付される金額はあくまで支払った税金の範囲内で、それ以上になることはありません。しかしこれまで支払った税金の合計は意外と多額で還付予想額を算出すると皆さん非常に驚かれます。この制度適用は外国人のみならず、外国人を配偶者（フィリピン人等）にもつ日本人も配偶者の家族を扶養していれば適用されます。外国人と結婚した時点で配偶者の母国に住む配偶者の家族・親族も法的な「家族」となるのです。もちろん経済的な援助をすることで「扶養」となるわけですから、これを証明することが必要となります。還付申請を行う上で重要な注意点がありますので説明いたします。＊日本人が申請する場合、扶養親族と認められるのは外国人配偶者の3親等以内の親族。外国人が申請する場合、自分自身の6親等以内。＊「扶養」とは扶養親族に経済的に援助（金銭・物品）していること。またそのことを証明する書類を提出できること。一般的な質問事項＜＜Q & A＞＞ Q: どれくらい還付されるの？ A: 還付金は、申告者により異なります還付の可能性と還付概算額等は、申請時に個々の書類を確認後に判明します。 Q: 還付されるまでの期間はどれくらい？ A: 還付金額同様申告者の扶養状況により異なります。最短で約２~３カ月、最長で約１年から１年半程かかる方も中にはいます。 Q: 手数料はどの位？ A: 申告者により異なりますが、基本的には還付金額に対しての２０～２５％（グループ割引、リピーター割引あり） Q: ビザを持っていませんが、申告は可能？ A: 超過滞在者（オーバーステイ）でも申告は可能ですが、申告には必ず外国人登録されていることが必須となります。

Q: 母国へ帰国する場合でも還付申告は可能ですか？ A: 納税管理人や代理人を立てれば申告は可能です。 Q: フィリピン人で現在は帰化して日本国籍ですが、申告は可能ですか？ A: 帰化しても、家族が母国に在住し、扶養していれば可能です。 Q: 還付申告はフィリピン国籍ではなく他の国籍でも可能ですか？ A: 申告の条件を満たしていれば可能です。 Q: パートタイムで働いていても、還付申告は可能ですか？ A: 納めた税金が有れば可能です。未払いが有る場合は、還付申告により充当されます。
