Welcome to Southern California Wine Country

To opening the good stuff, and our hearts
Named a “Top 10 Wine Travel Destination” by Wine Enthusiast, Temecula Valley is an award-winning, globally recognized wine region, distinct from any other in California. It’s a breathtakingly picturesque American Viticultural Area (AVA), with rolling, Tuscan-like hills and climate that is often compared to the Mediterranean. Wine lovers can plan an entire vacation around nearly 50 wineries, each with unique amenities and experiences like live entertainment, gourmet dining and resort style accommodations.
Driven by a maverick and highly skilled winemaker community, and nurtured by cool misty mornings, warm dry afternoons and chilly nights, Temecula grows and produces more than two dozen Italian, Spanish and French grape varietals. Uncommon, and uncommonly delicious Sangiovese, Montepulciano, Tempranillo and Vermentino grapes thrive here, along with well-known classics like Syrah, Viognier, Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay.
Many Temecula Valley wineries are family run, artisan style operations, and it’s not uncommon to meet and share a moment with the winemakers or owners when visiting tasting rooms. These craft wineries tend to produce a limited number of cases of each vintage, which means they prioritize selling directly to visitors at the wineries. Visitors often join one of their wine clubs, which is a great way to stay connected and get access to exclusive releases, events and other perks, turning love at first sip into a lifelong passion!
Today, three established, easy-to-navigate wine trails—Rancho California, Calle Contento and De Portola, each offer unique sipping and savoring experiences— all unpretentious, approachable, and warmly welcoming to newbies and aficionados alike. You’ll discover wineries known for a diverse range of tastes, from playful and easy drinking to elegant and age-worthy, with diverse experiences to match. Think educational guided tastings,
blending experiences, poolside sips, Tapas Tuesdays, live bands, exclusive member lounges, luxurious onsite lodging and full-service restaurants among the vines. Add hot air balloon flights, horseback trail rides, an eclectic array of guided tours and endlessly delicious foodie adventures, and you’ve got a recipe for a vintage Southern California, glass-full getaway.
