Peter said for the third time, “I do not know Jesus!” And then he heard a rooster crowing, and he realised what he had done. He remembered Jesus’ words: “Before the rooster crows, you will say three times that you do not know me.” Peter knew that he was not as brave as he had thought. He felt terrible.
