Praise & Prayer Holy Bible
The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands ‌ The law of the Lord is perfect, refreshing the soul. The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple. The precepts of the Lord are right, giving joy to the heart. The commands of the Lord are radiant, giving light to the eyes. The fear of the Lord is pure, enduring for ever. The decrees of the Lord are firm, and all of them are righteous. They are more precious than gold, than much pure gold; they are sweeter than honey, than honey from the honeycomb. Forgive my hidden fault ‌ Keep your servant also from wilful sins; may they not rule over me. Then I will be blameless, innocent of great transgression. May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.
Excerpts from Psalm 19
Throughout the Psalms David modelled the importance of praise and prayer. No matter what happened in his life he would talk to God about it. Then he would always end by praising God. David poured out all his experiences and emotions to God. It was in that space that he found comfort, strength and peace. I will give thanks to the Lord because of his righteousness; I will sing the praises of the name of the Lord Most High. Psalm 7:17 I will be glad and rejoice in you; I will sing the praises of your name, O Most High. Psalm 9:2 ‌ that my heart may sing your praises and not be silent. Lord my God, I will praise you for ever. Psalm 30:12
