What’s an ARF?

DEFINING DEFINING THE THE ARF ARF ARF stands for Article Report Form. ARF’s are a way to document a club’s participation in service events and the impact it has on the community. Collecting and viewing ARF’s ensure that the CNH KIWIN’s district is holding up to it’s values and actively reaching out to their community. ARF’s are also selected to be featured in District newsletters, where they showcase the hard work and service a club is doing. In addition, ARF’s act as a reflection of a club’s level of activity during that month. Missing ARF’s can signal a need for more events or a need for help in raising member participation.

FILLING FILLING IT IT OUT OUT Ok, so how do I make an ARF? An ARF consists of 2 parts: a short article, and photographs of the event. The written section can be as long as needed, but generally should not exceed one page length. One paragraph should suffice.

What to include: - Description of the event - Things that were memorable from the event - How members participated - Positive impacts on the community - Any problems that arose and how it was overcome - Funds that were raised - What was learned from the event and what can be improved next time?

How to Format: - Header should include school, division, event and date - Key Club International logo and CNH KIWIN’S logo included - Century Gothic Font, 12 pt, single spaced - Text is centered - Avoid “!!!” and slang

Example Example Article Article Edison KIWIN’S Jet Division Surf City Marathon 2018 “BANG BANG” The gun goes off and the 5K race finally begins. Everything is set and ready for the runners to compete at the peak of their performance. Volunteers woke up at 4:00AM to catch the bus from the HB Library to their designated areas. The bus ride was filled with laughter and excitement as we went on a short trip to our destination. Volunteers walk out to a certain spot and receive specific information on what to set up and how to set the tables up. They listened closely to the instructions and began to work diligently throughout the day. The tables were set in a perfect line for the runners to follow and safely come by and pick up water as they ran. Water cups were lined up all across the tables and then covered with a piece of poster board to create a second layer of water cups. We ended up finishing our work early and had a great time bonding with our members and board members. It was an amazing time socializing and a great overall experience. Once the runners began to come, we all lined up with waters in our hands and ready to give them out to thirsty runners. You could hear the overwhelming amount of cheers volunteers yelled to encourage the runners to keep on going. After our shift was over, we switched with another school club and they took over our job. We left the area and went back to our buses to be taken back to the HB library to go home. Everybody was exhausted after working for so long but the experience made it worth it! Edison KIWIN’S will definitely make a return next year!

FILLING FILLING IT IT OUT OUT Wait. What about pictures? Good question! At least 3 photos are required for every ARF. Cropping or resizing is not needed. The photos should be of high quality and focus on the members. Action shots, group photos, and pictures that capture the spirit of the event are preferred. Avoid blurry photos!
