After about an hour, neither could remember who they spoke to. Smaller shows give brides and vendors an opportunity to communicate in a hustle-free environment.

Smaller venues tend to invite only trusted vendors, vendors with whom they worked with in the past and have established a good relationship. Think of your wedding vendors as musicians in the orchestra, the more they worked together the smoother the day will go.

4) Detail adorned plunging necklines and backs: Nothing is more gorgeous than deep V cut gown and a sleek skirt. Whether it is a beach wedding, elopement or modern museum wedding...this trend is here to stay and grandmas jaw won’t be the only one that drops!

5) Bold lace with nude undertones: Bold and statement lace has been spotted for a while now. Statement lace photographs like a dream and it is the go-to transitional

TIPS WHEN BUYING Generally, during casual conversation while booking an apt I find out all the details that I need to know.

1) STYLE: Usually brides to be have a pretty good idea of how they want to look on their wedding day, so have styles and pics ready to show. More importantly, keep true to your vision and the vibe of your wedding day.

2) BUDGET: This one is crucial. Don’t go into an appointment and expect to try on $6000 gowns if your budget is $1500. This is a bridal NO-NO. Not only is it unrealistic...it knocks you off track during your appointment and time isn’t utilized well in order to help you find your dream gown.

3) DON’T WAIT UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE: Gowns typically take 4 months to 9 months to get in. Some require 12 months, so don’t wait until the last minute to dress shop if you want to order. Samples are a great avenue to explore if you need a gown fast, however keep in mind that most samples are bridal size 10 & 12...meaning if you are a size 2, don’t expect to have it tailored to your size.

4) ONCE YOU SAY YES: STOP LOOKING! Pinterest can be a good starting point for styles...but once you say, “yes to the dress” stop looking. Remember: Pinterest has a lot of good ideas, but most are highly styled photo shoots, again...leading brides into unrealistic expectations trying to replicate professional shoots.

Typically with weddings planned a year in advance, that can be troublesome for Brides who are staying current with the hottest new styles. We wanted to share with you trends that hit the runways in 2017 that are carrying over to the 2018 collections.

Not into veils? No problem, Bridal capes are hitting the runways full force this season! A full-length bridal cape or shorter caplet is a great alternative to adding the drama and tradition of a veil but in a fun new way. Want to get real creative? Turn your something old into something new! You can redesign a borrowed veil into a shorter cape or caplet easily! It still adds uniqueness and dimension to your gown but doesn’t neglect the tradition of a passed down veil or family heirloom. This also gives you two separate looks for your wedding! One for your reception,, and a quick change in to something a little sleeker for your evening attire.

There have been so many times where I have been with a bride that is set on a certain style of dress yet find nothing. The consultant is finally given the go ahead to bring in a different style and low and behold it’s an automatic “Yes to the Dress”. Besides, with some salons carrying hundreds, if not thousands, of dresses at any given time there is no way to see everything. These lovelies not only spend their days creating these special moments for clients daily, they know their inventory, they know their designers, they know what looks good on different body types, and they will know what will look amazing on you. Trust them and have fun with it, and who knows you

nticipate spending about an hour, maybe a little more, for your appointment. This is more than likely going to be the most expensive garment you purchase in your lifetime so don’t rush the process. Make sure you make an appointment, show up on time, and have some inspiration to start your consultant off with. Keep in mind though that you may need to schedule another appointment if yours starts to run over 1.5 hours.

Be prepared to try on around 5-8 per appointment so don’t schedule more than 2 on the same day. This will lead to sensory overload and you will have a hard time making a decision, not to mention these gowns are heavy so you are going to get tired.

The Estate On The Halifax Eastern central florida’s premiere wedding venue is a family owned and operated business specializing in weddings.

The gentlemen will arrive to the venue to spend their day in a completely refurbished 1950s era Tavernlounge train car. The train is eighty-five feet long and half was meant for live entertainment and half for dining purposes. We now see the gentlemen enjoying their day hanging out and then able to get ready within the train car as well.

Speaking of photography, the options are limitless for picture backdrops throughout the sprawling ten-acre Estate. After the conclusion of ceremony, guests are welcome to wander the garden area and experience it for themselves. They will be able to enjoy hors d’oeuvres and beverages from Snow White’s Cottage, built by hand in the 1920’s its a true relic of history.

As cocktail hour is concluding guests make their way into the Tavern, which is our reception facility. The Tavern was built originally in the 1920’s as a residential home and was moved a few hundred feet to where it sits today. Two large additions have been made to the Tavern which now provides a great space for groups of any size from intimate affairs under fifty guests to a capacity of around two hundred. As guests make their way into the Tavern they will enter into the foyer, which has three original fireplace mantels often used for displaying photos of the wedding couple.

While prepping and pampering are occurring in Agatha’s or the train, décor and setup happen throughout the rest of the venue in anticipation of the ceremony and reception to come. The property boasts a Chapel built originally in 1897 and relocated to its current location in 1997 where it was restored and now hosts indoor ceremonies with a capacity of 150 guests.

There are numerous options for outdoor ceremonies to occur on the venue as well, with locations including a riverfront view, a large century oak and our signature Gazebo. There is a large lake with flowing fountains and seven giant Koi ponds throughout the venue for guest enjoyment and photo use.

As they find their seats guests will often grab a drink from our large granite bar that can serve anything from iced tea to cocktails on a wedding day. The party really gets going once the wedding party makes their formal entrance and the guests get to see the couple introduced via the grand main staircase. As the night starts to wind down couple’s will make their exit through a path of sparkler waving or clapping guests as they retire back to Agatha’s to relax and enjoy their wedding night.

About Banyan EstateTom and Joanne Murdoch are the current owners of the Historic Malabar Banyan Estate. They have travelled the world extensively and have always had a love for older buildings and architecture. They have owned historical properties some dating back to the early 1900’s. They find that each of these has its own unique characteristics and stories that tell about their history and the people they are associated with. As you enter the rooms and spaces of the Banyan Estate, each has its own personality and elegance. It provides a perfect backdrop for you to bring in your style and creativity to your event.

The Banyan Estate property is well known to local residences as the historic Malabar Schoolhouse. Today, you can still see the beauty and grace of the property starting with the classical architecture and continuing with the spacious grounds. About the propertyBuilt as the areas’ first county school in 1927, the Historic Malabar Schoolhouse, housed grades 1 thru 8. It was the primary school in the area for only a few years. In 1935, the children in Malabar began attending school in Melbourne.

The addition of the south end structure to the building was added sometime later. Over the 80 plus years since it housed students, It has a history of being used as a speakeasy during prohibition, a restaurant, and as custom woodworking shop. people at once. It came with two props. It cost the bride and groom $800. “That did it,” the former Army infantry soldier, who served two tours in Iraq, said. “I set out to do something better.”

What he did was Palm Bay-based Space Coast Photobooth, which offers a five-by-five-by-eight-foot booth into which as many as 19 people have fit, billed as the largest in Brevard County. It is seen about 70 events per year in the Orlando area and on the Treasure Coast as well as the Space Coast, “at least 90 percent of them weddings,” in Dobson’s words.

The reason for its success, he added, is that the booth not only is better – among other things, it uses a Canon Rebel T3 DSLR high-definition camera rather than a webcam or other lower-quality equipment -- but different.

“We have close to $2,000 worth of high-quality props, so each photo can be unique, and we do not charge for prop packages. We also don’t charge for set-up in Brevard County, (photo) strips, a thumb drive of individual and (four-photo) strips, a scrapbook or a Facebook upload. Everything is included,” Dobson said.

That “everything” includes that scrapbook and those copies of photos are of major importance to newlyweds.

“If you have a regular wedding photographer, you wait weeks, even months, for your photographs and your scrapbook,” he said. “Ours is a high-quality, embossed scrapbook with black pages. By doing what we do, we provide wedding guests with favors, and that scrapbook is one of the favorite things we do for the brides. It’s instant gratification, something they can take with them the night of the wedding.”

“We post everything the night of the event so (the wedding party and friends) can tag them and continue to enjoy the celebration,” Dobson said. “That also makes it easy for out-of-town guests to get copies too, but if you don’t want them posted, we won’t do it.”

It adds up to happy customers “Space Coast Photo Booth is the best,” Fla Herrald Wilson of Cocoa posted to the Facebook page last year.

“They were at our wedding and it was awesome . . . The props are excellent, clean and a wide variety. The prints that the guests got to take home were wonderful. But the album that we got to take with us that night was totally incredibly hilarious. What a great idea. So much better than having to wait two to three weeks for your professional pictures.”

Dobson, who also owns Breezy Pool Care in Palm Bay, is delighted with the way things have worked out with Space Coast Photobooth and he sees growth ahead.

“In the future, I see us doing 150 events a year and continuing to be the best photo booth in Brevard County,” he said, and laughed a little about what he does.
