Our Foundation programs provide preemployment, entry-level training. Graduates often receive credit for firstlevel apprenticeship technical training which leads to employment.

Earn a Red Seal and work wherever you want. Red Seal certification is recognized around the world. Apprenticeship technical training (levels one through four) at Coast Mountain College combines traditional classroom instruction and hands-on experience in our well-equipped shops and labs. This interprovincial endorsement allows you to work across Canada as a certified journeyperson.

The Industry Training Authority (ITA) leads and coordinates British Columbia’s skilled trades system. ITA works with employers, apprentices, industry, labour, training providers and government to issue credentials, support apprenticeships, fund programs, set program standards and increase opportunities in the trades.

Youth Train in Trades Start your trades training while in high school. A dual-credit program to earn credits towards both high school graduation and the first level of technical training. We provide post-secondary training to youth still in high school through partnerships with the ITA and local school districts.

Education on the move We deliver training outdoors, in innovative spaces and in many cases, in high-tech mobile shops and classrooms. Our mobile training campuses are a specialized group of units that bring various programs to your home community. Our two expanding trailers are eight feet wide and 53 feet long. •

1,000 square feet of state-of-the-art trades training equipment; including a brand-new commercial kitchen.

Powered with both a three-phase power source for welding and a single phase for all other power requirements.

Can plug into an existing power source or run off a diesel generator within the unit.

Our innovative and versatile spaces can be transformed to provide a wide range of training from professional cooking or welding to business and health related programming.

Regional trades delivery •

Prince Rupert’s campus has an in-house welding shop and trades training is supported through mobile trades delivery and dual-credit opportunities.

The Smithers campus has a shop that can offer a variety of programming also supported by mobile trades delivery and dual-credit.

Dual-credit programming brings trades training to life in partnership with local school districts from Houston to Haida Gwaii. Dual-credit programs allow high school students to get trades training credit while still enrolled in high school.

Trades training is offered in rural and remote communities across our region through our mobile training campuses equipped with state-of-the art equipment and versatile classrooms (see page 10).

Professional Cook At Coast Mountain College, our commercial kitchen makes most professional chefs jealous. Apply online To apply for our foundation programs go to coastmountaincollege.ca/trades. Choose your trade and select �Apply Now�. You must register with the Industry Training Authority (ITA) as an apprentice before applying for our apprenticeship programs. Once you are registered with ITA go to coastmountaincollege.ca/apprenticeship. Be sure to check the online schedule for program intake and start dates. Track your application A student ID number and login information will be sent to you after you apply.
