1 GLOBAL DIFFICULTIES, LOCAL SOLUTIONS Auletta has begun the process of rebuilding its historical center (this process will also help local community to find a new point of view on the tragic earthquake of november 23rd 1980 and as well on its memory), with some urban redevelopment that are funded by Regione Campania: the creation of a park preserving the ruins, the introduction of accommodation facilities to promote access to and knowledge of a geographic area that is exceptionally enriched with resources and amenities. In recognition of the high potential Auletta holds for innovative redevelopment, the local parties involved have opted to elicit external expertise via a process based on a set of shared moral principles. co/A - competition brief http://www.progetto-rena.it/coauletta/

THE LOGIC OF THE FUTURE. EXTENSIVE AGRICULTURE
We are coming to a paradigm shift that is making revolutionize all economic systems based on the culture of oil. “one conceptual world view is replaced by another” Thomas Kuhn
The map highlights the polarization of the rural landscape which today appears divided between forest areas (darker green), prevalently located in mountain areas, and agricultural areas (lighter green). Although the adopted scale overemphasizes the phenomenon, socioeconomic dynamics indeed undermined the historical integration between wood pastures and agriculture reducing the complexity of Italy’s landscape mosaic and biodiversity by favour, instead, simplification and structural homogeneity.
INTENSIVE AGRICULTURE
Back to intensive agriculture with traditional knowledge through a global model based on the characteristics of the territory. Recovery of local and regional values to create new synergies between towns and nearby towns. Agriculture should be able to create a new cultural landscape of the work from the concept of ecotons. A mosaic of natural ecosystems with a mixture of different areas of crop biodiversity reinforcing the area.

VALUE ADDED, AGRICULTURAL POTENTIAL
VALUE ADDED, PRODUCTION POTENTIAL
In economics Is the difference between the sale price and the production cost of a product is the value added per unit.
land potential
In agriculture Value-added agriculture refers most generally to manufacturing processes that increase the value of primary agricultural commodities. This concept has gained currency in the small farm policy debat. Examples include direct marketing; farmer ownership of processing facilities; and producing farm products with a higher intrinsic value (such as identity-preserved grains, organic produce; etc.), for which buyers are willing to pay a higher price than for more traditional bulk commodities. Significant rural development strategy.

LOCAL KNOWLEDGE
The rugged topography of the territory of Auletta does not allow intensive agricultural exploitation. So should enhance product quality and not quantity.
The external knowledge allows us to offer a competitive product in a global context. This contribution could vary according to needs.
The traditional knowledge is efficient and sustainable, is adapted to the climate and location. The knowledge related to the value of a territory are allowed to make a unique product.

1 VALUE ADDED, COLLECTIVE INTELLIGENCE
Citizen representation
Actually, it is common that citizens feel increasingly distant from political and communal life. One of the most powerful tools to revitalize Auletta, is to engage people to any action or decision that is taken in the town.
New agricultural resources
ALICIA Foundation Is a research center engaged to the technological innovation of cooking, to the improvement of dietary habits and to the assessment of food and culinary heritage. It’s a center with a social vocation and open to everyone to promote good nutrition. http://www.alicia.cat/
2 CITIZEN PARTICIPATION Public participation is all the activity that is aimed to influence directly or indirectly in public policies. Talk about citizen participation is to influence on the decisions of the town and pass the power to the people. Citizen participation has two main types of actors: people as individuals and organizations. The institutions should play a key role in any participatory process, but necessary to open the process to citizens looking for maximum representation.
