Cobham Hall Boarding News: Spring 2021 By Natascha Küsel and Luka Anna Kniriem, Gap Assistants

WE ARE BACK! After a long lockdown break, we came back to our Boarding Houses and had some special surprises for our students. We have had a lot of different activities planned, inside and outside, and the Boarders were more than grateful to be back with us. This term is the last term for our Year 11s and 13s. We are wishing our leavers all the best for their future and we are more than proud to see our Boarders become adults.

Birthdays For my Birthday, the Housemistresses got me a cake and candy and we celebrated it with all the Boarders. It was so sweet and I enjoyed it very much especially since I was missing my family. It was unforgettable. Savannah, Year 10

Crepe Making

In the crepe making we had fun making all sorts of shapes and sized crepes whilst we also had the company of some visitors. I really enjoyed the crepe making because it was an amazing experience! Ayobami—Year 8

Quiz Night

The quiz night was so nice! The Housemistresses took time and effort to create an amazing quiz which had Guess the song, Disney and Finish the Lyric. The first ever Quiz we did that my team won but last time we lost. I would love to have a quiz night again. Jasmine—Year 10

Bench Ball and Pizza

On Friday all years played bench ball and pizza together in the AC. This was a nice distraction from our upcoming exams. The pizza was really nice too. Toni—Year 11

Smoothie Making

When we made smoothies in Boarding it was incredibly fun and exciting. You had the option of also making a milkshake. You could use fruits such as mangoes, strawberries, apples as well as ice cream. We got to experiment with adding different things of our choice and they ended up tasting amazing. If I do say so myself. It was so thrilling to do something independent because it taught me not to rely on people so much. I also had fun with my friends while dancing and singing to some old songs. Kachira—Year 10

Bluewater On Saturday 15th May, I went to the shopping mall with one of my friends and we bought a lot of stuff and some food to eat, it was amazing. We love the trip because it help with relaxing before our exams. Moyo—Year 11

Escape Room

On 9th May 2021 we had an escape room in Bligh House. It was a trip for Years 7 to 10. First the teams were made and then my group started. The major aim was to make a potion to break out of the tower before the skeletons would get us. In total, it was fun and exciting. Pere-Ere—Year 7

Zoo

It was a Sunday trip to Port Lympne zoo. We went to a maze and had massive slushies. We also saw a lot of animals. My favourite one was the lion. Toni—Year 9

We went to a zoo and saw many animals. It was fun to walk around with my friends. We sat at the cafe and had some food. We saw monkeys, lions, tigers and rhinos. Anjola—Year 10

Leavers’ Ball

The Boarders‘ Leavers‘ Party was truly a night I’ll never forget. There were pictures of all of us stuck on the wall that acted as a timeline, and I saw just how much I’ve grown over the years. I’ll admit, it was bittersweet. I’ve had an amazing time at Cobham and have made friendships with not only my fellow Boarders but the Housemistresses that watch over us, but know I have a bright future ahead of me. We ate, played games and had a great night, savoring our last moments at Cobham. After all, a bird has to leave its nest to learn how to fly. Isis—Year 11
