Staff Prayer Items(February / 2012) COCM Headquarters (Milton Keynes, UK) Prayer request 1. The core team who is preparing and planning for the day conference. Pray for wisdom and strength, joy and enthusiasm to encourage and inspire all those who a;end about PHAT and second-­‐genera@on ministry in this country. 2. All the youth leaders in the country who are considering coming. May God bring them all to join us on the day. 3. The day be an amazing @me of worship, great fellowship, sharing, and learning from one another. 4. Ministry @me and the power of God at work amongst us. May the Holy Spirit restore, refresh and strengthen us who serve in the second genera@on. 5. Unity and peace amongst us, and that we can truly share one another's burden in the ministry. 6. God bringing more leaders to join us, to serve together in PHAT ministry and the coming PHAT Summer 2012.

Henry and Ling Lu (General Director, Headquarter Office; Milton Keynes UK) Prayer requests 1. Thanks to the Lord for gran@ng Henry smooth journey to China and on the road in the UK during the busy month of January. Pray that he can find @me to rest as well as take @me off to be with the Children during February half-­‐term break. 2. Con@nue to pray for Ling to take up the responsibility of editor for the Living Water Magazine this year. Please pray for her to fine @me to learn the work involved and to start collec@ng tes@mony ar@cles. 3. Our daughter Annabel has finished all her GCSE exams in the month of January. She is s@ll not certain about her decision of courses to take in A-­‐Level. May the Lord guide her and grant her confidence as well as determina@on to face challenges ahead.

Rebecca Mao (Director of Member Care; Milton Keynes UK) Thanksgiving 1. Thank God we made progress on our training program. Now we need to implement what we have planned. Pray that Lord will provide manpower to do what we have planned. 2. Praise the Lord. So far more than 40 people have registered for our first training camp in March. Prayer request 3. I am thinking of going back to China in May. I have not been back to China for 22 years. I will go to Chinese Visa Office next Tuesday to apply for visa but because I am holding UK visa of Ministry of Religion, I may encounter difficul@es. So please pray for this. 4. The company of my brother-­‐in-­‐law is going through some challenging @me and this will affect his job. My sister and her husband are both Chris@ans. Please pray that the Lord will guide them as they see His leading. Pray that the peace, which passes all understanding, will be theirs in Jesus.

Gordon and Maggie Lam (Student Ministry; Milton Keynes UK) Thanksgiving 1. Two leaders in Montpellier, France are very commi;ed to serve and willing to help new-­‐believers to grow in their spiritual life. Gordon has started the 1st bible study with them through internet; it was smooth and good feedback was received. 2. Have wonderful fellowship @me with York brothers and sisters. Prayer Request 3. God will provide a venue for bible study in Nice, France 4. 9-­‐13 Feb Gordon serves in Montpellier & Nice, France 5. 23-­‐27 Feb Gordon serves in York, Hull & Sunderland 6. Gospel Team: Confirma@on of new loca@ons and team building with new core members 7. Family members have good health and can accept Jesus.

Connie Yu (Student Ministry; Milton Keynes UK) Thanksgiving 1. Give thanks for good @me with students in Leicester. The mandarin students fellowship met in the first two weekends of January and there were both Chris@ans and non-­‐Chris@ans a;ending. Please pray that there will be good bonding in the group and everyone would grow. 2. Thank God for his protec@on for my driving, I began to get familiar with the roads and have more confidence. Prayer request 3. Will preach on the four Sundays in February, two of which will be in Leicester. Please pray for my prepara@on. 4. Please con@nue to pray for my parents, that they would come to know Jesus.

Thank God for @me being with the family during the Chinese New Year, especially for the @me visi@ng my uncle’s family in Tianjin 2. Thank God that my parents are well and their rela@onship improved 3. Thank God for good progress of my thesis Prayer request 4. I had opportunity to share gospel with two of my uncles and my supervisor in the university. I gave Bible and other related books to them and may the Lord open up their hearts to see the truth. 5. My niece is 16 years old and her classmates don’t want to make friends with her because of poor study. Please pray that Jesus’ love would fill her heart and she will gradually build up her confidence. May the Lord give me love to keep contact with her. 6. Please con@nue to pray for my parents’ salva@on and their rela@onship.

Tzyy-­‐Terng Su and Yu-­‐Mei Wu (Mission Centre Ministry CoordinaEon Manager; Graphic Designer; Milton Keynes UK) Thanksgiving 1. Thank God for good rest at home and the @me being with the family during the Chinese New Year. Prayer requests 2. Joe and May shared their ministry with Joe’s home church on 29th January and they will share again with May’s home church on 5th February.

Paul Du (Centre Maintenance & IT; Milton Keynes UK) Prayer request 1. Learn how to drive a car safely and efficiently. 2. Pray that my parents will be saved by God during this visit @me!

Dennis Yau and Jessica Guo (Associate; Bookroom; Luton UK) Prayer requests 1. House Hun@ng in Milton Keynes-­‐ God will provide the best place for living and serving 2. Luton Bible Study Group -­‐ Many students become very busy-­‐ pray that God can give them heart of wondering God's Words. 3. Preach in LCCC in Feb (Dennis) 4. Prepare to kick off a Chris@an growth course in LCCC-­‐ pray that more leaders can stand out and join the course (Dennis) 5. Sister's fellowship (Luton) -­‐ pray that God guide us and more members can join.

Job Yan (Associate; Prague Czech Republic) Prayer requests 1. For the Spirit to work in the heart of two Prague Chinese Fellowship members as they wrestle with Christ's Lordship in their life. Ask that the Father may draw them to Himself. 2. For greater humility and sensi@vity as I begin to par@cipate in COCM's work by ministering to the Basel Chinese Church. Thank God for this faithful group of believers with a heart to seek & know him. Ask for spiritual insight as I prepare for the sermon to bring to them when I next visit in mid-­‐March. 3. For protec@on as I travel to Beijing later this month to evaluate a new ministry project & to meet a few house church leaders. Ask that there may be resonance & mee@ng of minds in my mee@ngs. 4. For the Interna@onal Church of Prague where I serve as elder. Its two pastors will leave in 5 months. The burden is very much on the three elders to lead the church through uncharted waters. God clearly has something to tell the church. Pray all the leaders may listen well & a;en@vely.

Oiling Lam (Student Ministry; Colchester UK) Thanksgiving 1. Thank God for His unfailing love and protec@on. 2. Thank God for strengthening the new believers and helping them to grow. 3. Thank God for being with the seekers and enable them to experience the faithfulness of Himself. Prayer request 4. Pray for the musical gospel mee@ng organized by short-­‐term mission team from Chinese Church in London (CCiL) on 11 and 12 February. Pray for all the prepara@on work. May the Lord use this mee@ng to lead people back to Him. 5. Pray for the busy study of the students and they may s@ll have @me to a;end the Sunday service and to have regular devo@on life amidst their busy schedules.


Staff Prayer Items(February / 2012) Grace Li (Student Ministry; NoTngham UK) Thanksgiving 1. Thank God for the work among the young believers who went to the Year-­‐End camps, please pray for Z and Li would con@nually have the longing heart for God, also remember those who went to the camps but seem have no longing heart for God. May the lord touch their hearts to see the needs of being God's children. Prayer request 2. Pray for our Friday’s fellowship, which is to reach out non-­‐believers, that the Lord would work powerful among those young students in this new term. May our bible studies would bring people to accept the Lord. 3. Pray for my Mum as her health is not very good, may the lord heal her totally.

Mary Ma (Student Ministry; Brighton UK) Thanksgiving 1. There were 7 more students coming to faith in January and there are almost 20 students coming to faith altogether. Please pray for these new spiritual babies. 2. There are 9 students coming to a;end the worship and bible study on Sunday. Prayer request 3. Pray for Bible study on Friday night at and pray for Sunday service and the bible study alerwards. 4. Pray that the Lord will prepare the co-­‐workers for Mary. 5. Pray for salva@on of the overseas students and Chinese immigrants in Brighton. 6. Pray for Mary’s physical and spiritual health.

Monica Li (Student Ministry; Lancaster UK) Thanksgiving 1. Thank God for a good @me of gemng to know Lancaster, the people and adjus@ng to life here. S@ll need to find a house to rent near to the university and to sort out my house in Milton Keynes. Prayer request 2. I am doing follow-­‐up with 3 female master students from China. They are very busy with their courses. Please pray that the sessions can give them a good founda@on of the Chris@an faith and their rela@onship with God.

Chu-­‐Yin Ho (Student Ministry; Dundee UK) Thanksgiving 1. Thank God for the Chinese New Year celebra@on last Friday. We had about 40 in a;endance, including many children in our midst. We started off with some songs and some message for food for thought. Therealer, it was basically a night of making dumplings together and all had fun in wrapping and ea@ng the dumplings. The fellowship has prepared a red packet each with chocolate gold coins and Bible verse inside; this is our blessings for the people. Prayer request 2. We pray that God somehow will touch the heart of people with His love and that He will overrule any of our lacking and imperfec@on. May He keep drawing people to the place of readiness to hear and respond to the gospel. 3. Pray for specifically 3 students who are open to know more about the faith, that God will keep them desiring to know and will come to faith in due @me.

Yuen Yee Ting (Church PlanEng; Perth UK) Prayer request 1. Pray that the brothers and sisters will be encouraged to share the gospel with their families. 2. Pray that the devo@on life will be established among the brothers and sisters. 3. Pray for the retreat of Restaurant Fellowship on April 4. Pray for the faith of those who are weak in health 5. Pray for my ministry and my body, soul and spirit.

Simon and Lydia Tam (Church PlanEng; Colchester UK) Prayer request 1. Pray for Simon’s ministry in Basel from 3-­‐6 February. May the Lord use his service. 2. Pray for the short-­‐term mission team from Chinese Church in London (CCiL) from 11-­‐12 February. May the Lord use this opportunity to spread the gospel to more students and Chinese immigrants in Colchester. 3. Our church is now promo@ng the “Bible reading” programme. May the Lord grant longing hearts to the brothers and sisters and help them to know more about God from His word. 4. Pray for the salva@on of our family members.


Staff Prayer Items(February / 2012) Kam Hung and Mi Ting Ho (Interim Dirctor of Admin, Church PlanEng; Hull UK) Thanksgiving 1. January 2012 passed with sadness but joy of the Chinese New Year. Mi Ting's short visit to Hong Kong brought final farewell to her beloved brother. We thanked him for his life as a big brother. We are glad that he accepted the Lord so we could have the assurance of mee@ng him again in future. During the visit in Hong Kong, Mi Ting met up with many cousins whom we did not have contact over the past 24 years in England. Many are s@ll outside the gospel but they enjoyed the Chris@an funeral. Pray that they could have a chance to know Jesus as their personal Saviour. 2. Mi Ting returned to England on the fist day of the Chinese New Year, just in @me to join the Church celebra@on. Around 60 people a;ended this special mee@ng. It's good to be able to celebrate Chinese New Year in England. We have to learn to strive forward to achieve what God has set for us. Prayer request 3. Pray for renewal of vision and energy to go forward. 4. Pray for restart of the student work in the new term, especially for the students from China. Thank God that our COCM coworker Gordon would join the student fellowship once a month. Pray that he could spark the vision for outreach. 5. Pray for Gloria to have the determina@on to complete her disserta@on before April and guidance from the Lord how to go forward.

Tin Chung and Carol Wong (Church PlanEng; Exeter UK) Thanksgiving 1. Thank God that four students accepted Jesus in our Bible study group. May the Lord help them to grow in His Word. 2. Thank God that there were around 50 people a;ending the sixth anniversary of Exeter CCC on 29th January. The vision of the church is to grow in God’s word and be the salt and light in the local community. Prayer request 3. Pray for the Bible study of all brothers and sisters in 4 groups. 4. Pray for the health of our family.

Lawrence and Clara Sin (Student Ministry; Birmingham UK) Prayer requests 1. Pray for the upcoming joint gospel outreach of CCiL (Soho) and Bath CCF. It is going to be held on 10-­‐12th February. Pray for the unity of the two fellowships and a fruipul event. 2. Pray for EEIII for Bristol CCC. Pray that God will equip the brothers and sisters to preach the gospel in city of Bristol. 3. Clara's mum broke her rib in January. She had real difficulty moving about and it is impossible for her to live independently on her daily life. Clara went back Hong Kong last month to take care of her and help arrange the social service for the elderly people in Hong Kong. Please remember her in your prayer sincerely.

Tiger and Joy Liaw (Student Ministry/Church PlanEng; London UK) Thanksgiving 1. One student who lel our fellowship for Graduate school in Glasgow accepted Christ over the phone. 2. For good bonding of brothers & sisters in the past few months, may they become witnesses among their friends. 3. For God’s protec@on & healing -­‐ Joy & Winston were sick on and off in the past month. Prayer requests 4. The socie@es fair at the campus on Feb 6th -­‐ for more students to get to know & join our fellowship – Chinese Chris@an Club. 5. For more mature brothers & sisters step out to lead the fellowship. 6. STM in April – For brothers & sisters in NY who are considering to join . 7. For God’s direc@on & provision in planning to rent the main hall for worship and use the secondary hall where we worship currently for children program. 8. For outreach work to Chinese students at Herpordshire university.

Chi Ming and Wing Chun Tang (ExecuEve Director -­‐ HK Office, Europe Field; HK) Thanksgiving 1. Thank God for the 85th birthday of Wing Chun’s mum and her health is good aler the recent check up. Prayer request 2. Wing Chun will leave Hong Kong for Holland on 8th February and pray for the safe journey. 3. Wing Chun will preach in the church on 12th February. May the Lord grant her His word. 4. Pray that the Lord will give Chi Ming strength to preach at various occasions.

May Tseng (Hong Kong Office, HK) Thanksgiving 1. Thank God for good rest during the Chinese New Year though we had a busy schedule. Prayer request 2. May will go for a check-­‐up at the hospital on 14th February. Pray that everything go well. 3. May s@ll has the rashes at night. Please pray for God’s healing. Also pray that this allergy won’t pass to the baby. 4. Pray that God will provide a suitable baby-­‐minder to help us.
