Staff Prayer Items(September / 2012) Henry and Ling Lu (General Director, Headquarter Office; Milton Keynes UK) Thanksgiving 1. Thank God for the encouragement Henry received during his trip to Dublin for the Chinese Gospel Church of Dublin's 20th anniversary. 2. Thank God for travel protecAon while Ling and the children were in the USA. Ling had good fellowship and sharing with home church brothers and sisters. She also had Ame to visit her parents and their church which she and Henry served 20 years ago in California. Prayer requests 3. Please pray for Henry's preaching schedule in September: 6-­‐10/9 Helsinki CCC, Finland; 16/9 Canterbury CCF; 23/9 Oxford Chinese Student and Scholar fellowship; 28-­‐30/9 Dusseldorf CCC (Aachen CCF), Germany. Pray for travel safety, good health and quiet Ame to prepare. 4. Ling and the children will be back to the UK on 5th of September; the children will go back to school the next day. Pray that they will not suffer jet-­‐lag and will have sufficient energy to face the new school year. 5. Annabel's GCSE results were be^er in science subjects than art and language subjects. She is debaAng whether she should pursue Art at A-­‐level. Please pray that God grant us wisdom to help her to make many criAcal decisions in the upcoming school year.

Rebecca Mao (Director of Member Care; Milton Keynes UK) Thanksgiving 1. Thank God for traveling mercy and protecAon. 2. Thank God for close to 60 people who have registered for the Bible camp. Prayer Request 3. I will be preaching every week for the next few weeks. Please pray that God will give me focus in preparaAon and give me insight into his words. 4. I have sent in my passport to UKBA for renewing my visa, please pray the visa will be granted quickly so I can a^end the pastoral consultaAon in Spain.

Gordon and Maggie Lam (Student Ministry; Milton Keynes UK) Thanksgiving 1. Three gospel events in August were completed. Although there were different challenges, God has kept us and protected us all the way. Team members have learnt a lot and were encouraged by God’s amazing work. Prayer Request 2. 6-­‐8/9 Gordon Serving in Northern England (leading bible studies, visiAng students and preaching in church). 3. 13-­‐17/9 Gospel events in Montpellier and Marseille, France. Please pray that we will have a safe journey, pass through the custom smoothly and have good partnership with local churches. 4. September gospel events in the UK: 20/9 Dundee; 21/9 Glasgow; 28/9 Manchester; 29/9 Sunderland. Pray that God will prepare the team's serving heart and bring more non-­‐believers to these events. May God touch their hearts and bring them to Christ in the event. 5. Gospel Team: Please pray for (1) all preparaAon work including worship and drama rehearsal and promoAonal work in different locaAons; (2) spiritual unity in our team; (3) road safety and members’ health; (4) have good partnership with local churches. 6. Pray for our families’ health and that they can come to know Christ.

Connie Yu (Student Ministry; Milton Keynes UK) Thanksgiving 1. Give thanks for opportuniAes of gefng to know more families in Leicester church through visitaAons, please pray that their faith and love would be strengthened and encouraged in the church family. Prayer Request 2. Please pray for the outreach to the new students in Leicester, pray that their hearts would be open to the gospel. It is my prayer that we could reach as many students as possible, that all of them would come to know and love Jesus. 3. Have been reading I Believe in Preaching by John Sto^, and this book helps to deepen my understanding and calling of the ministry of preaching. As I conAnue to preach in Leicester, pray that I would pracAce and reflect what I have learnt from this book. 4. Will go to Dundee, Glasgow, Manchester and Sunderland in September with our gospel team to reach out new students. Please pray for strength, and closeness to God in busy schedules. 5. Please conAnue to pray for my parents in China, that they would come to know Jesus.

Josh Shek (Second GeneraHon Ministry; Milton Keynes & Bristol UK) Thanksgiving 1. Thank God for working in people's lives during this year's PHAT Camp. God touched people’s hearts through Ian's preaching and many young people were encouraged in their faith. Several teens gave their lives to Christ and many more were able to open up about their struggles and hurts. 2. Thank God also that Calvary CCC's Church Retreat during the last weekend of August went well. I spent 2 days with their youth group and was encouraged by their faith and service to God and each other. Prayer Request 3. I will be supporAng the Gospel Team in their trip to France between 13-­‐17th Sept. Please pray that God will be with us as we serve our friends there. May he guard our safety, rest and service. 4. Please also pray for my rest as I recover from a month of intense acAvity and travel.


Staff Prayer Items(September / 2012) Dennis Yau and Jessica Guo (Associate; Bookroom; Milton Keynes UK) Thanksgiving 1. Jessica had her second scan and everything goes well. Prayer Request 2. New bookroom system project will start in September. Please pray that God will grant us wisdom. 3. New students started to arrive in Luton and pray that we will have more chances to get to know them. 4. Pray for the students in Cranfield who are about to leave in September, may God conAnue to guide them. Pray that we can know more new students for this coming year through the welcome party.

Min Yin (CommunicaHon; Milton Keynes UK) Thanksgiving 1. Thank God that I finished my whole thesis and praise Him for his faithfulness and abundant provision during the last four years. 2. Thank God for bringing me parents safely to the UK and we spent three weeks as a family visiAng different places in this country. Thank God for wonderful weather and good Ame together. Prayer request 3. My Dad lel UK on 29th August and my Mum will stay at COCM for a longer Ame. Pray that God will engineer the circumstances for them to know him. 4. May God grant me strength and wisdom to go through this busy Ame of the year (wrapping up everything of my 4-­‐year PhD studies and supporAng COCM Gospel Team). May I know more of Jesus!

Tzyy-­‐Terng Su and Yu-­‐Mei Wu (Mission Centre Ministry CoordinaHon Manager; Graphic Designer; Milton Keynes UK) Thanksgiving 1. Thank God for bringing John Wong and Ma^hew Li to be volunteers with us. 2. Thank God that three families joined TFiL recently and a sister got bapAzed in August. 3. Most of the staff and volunteers at the centre were trained to get a Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering so that we may manage the kitchen more efficiently and handle the food in a safe way. Prayer requests 4. Please pray that God will give wisdom to those who are going to parAcipate the upgrade of bookroom system as it needs a lot of preparaAon work including database construcAon 5. Please pray for the preparaAon of TT’s Bible study leading. 6. Please pray for good health of TT, especially the healing of his hernia. 7. Pray for the recruitment of volunteers in 2013.

Anthony Lau (AdministraHon; Milton Keynes & Cambridge UK) Prayer request 1. SEEC is having a meeAng early September. Various decisions regarding promoAon etc. are crucial in this meeAng. 2. Wisdom for Ame management as a lot of tasks are required when new academic years starts. 3. Sleep well while staying overnight in Milton Keynes.

Eugene Chan (Finance; Newcastle UK) Thanksgiving 1. God's faithfulness and amazing work in Fang's parents that both have accepted Jesus Christ during their two months stay in UK. 2. God's protecAon in the many dialogues with Fang's parents that they now have a be^er understanding of our values and commitments. 3. God's guidance in bringing students from mainland China to the Sunderland Globe Cafe. 4. God's provision of local and student co-­‐workers in Sunderland student fellowship. Prayer request 5. Fang's parents will conAnue to seek God and establish themselves in the Hefei's family church and Bible study group. 6. God's protecAon of their faith in China's hosAle environment. 7. God's conAnual work in the Sunderland Globe Cafe and conAnue to a^ract many internaAonal students. 8. God's inspiraAon in Sunderland student fellowship that the gospel be spread and disciples be made in the most loving way.

Oiling Lam (Student Ministry; Colchester UK) Thanksgiving 1. Thank God that I constantly experience His grace and love. Halleujah! 2. Praise God that some students commi^ed their lives to follow Jesus at a gospel event and they are now being discipled. Prayer request 3. Please pray for the students who are going to leave and may God guide their future path and conAnuous growth in Christ. 4. Please pray that God will grant me wisdom and strength to know new students.


Staff Prayer Items(September / 2012) Chu-­‐Yin Ho (Student Ministry; Dundee UK) Thanksgiving 1. Thank God for my families who have travelled back to Scotland with me for a short visit. It was wonderful to have spent Ame visiAng different places in Scotland. Thank God for bringing them back safely to Singapore. They have enjoyed their Ame here in Scotland. Prayer request 2. Pray for the welcome cafe on 14/9. We hope through this event we can get to meet many new Chinese students and also be introduced to the fellowship. 3. We will be inviAng them back to join the special event next week on 21/9, which is an evangelisAc meeAng where COCM gospel team will be helping us with the programme. We pray that many will come to join this event and that God will save those whose hearts are open and ready. Pray for all aspects of preparaAon events, the publicity and invitaAon and His blessings upon the flow of the programme on both nights. Pray also for God's protecAon for the team and DCCF, as well as unity as we serve together.

Monica Li (Student Ministry; Lancaster UK) Thanksgiving 1. Praise God for His abundant grace and all the different experiences during furlough. My younger brother Kenneth came back to Hong Kong from the UK in mid August so we were able to spend almost a week together. Please pray for God to do His wonderful work and turn his life around. Prayer request 2. Please pray for my need of a house. Praise God for His marvelous provision from January unAl now and I truly believe that His long-­‐term provision will be even more marvelous! 3. One brother from the US will come for a 12-­‐day mission trip from mid September followed by another one at the end of September for 2 months. Please pray that we will be united in our hearts and minds as witnesses to the gospel. 4. Please remember the returning students and the new ones when the academic year starts. Pray that God’s Spirit will work in their hearts and lead us to make contact with students old and new.

Grace Li (Student Ministry; NoUngham UK) Prayer request 1. The new term will start on 17th September, we'll have gospel meeAng on 21st September, pray that the Lord will bring more new students who have the hearts to seek the truth of the Lord to come to this event, also we'll have a good preparaAon for this event 2. As some matured ChrisAans have lel our fellowship aler their study, we'll have young ChrisAans in this new term. Pray that I could have wisdom to lead them for spiritual growth, and the fellowship would grow healthily as well. 3. Some students would return back from China, may the Lord restore their hearts of following God aler long holiday in China.

Mary Ma (Student Ministry; Brighton UK) Prayer request 1. Our fellowship is going to give out evangelisAc leaflets and magazines on 15-­‐30 September. Please remember us in your prayers. 2. Please pray for welcome party on 5th September and our weekly gospel meeAngs on Friday night. 3. Praise God that my health is restored. Please conAnue to pray for my physical and spiritual strength. 4. My elder sister is diagnosed with terminal rectal cancer. Please pray for her. May God bring all of my family who are not ChrisAans to know God through this. 5. Please pray for the salvaAon of those Chinese living in Brighton

Simon and Lydia Tam (Church PlanHng; Colchester UK) Prayer request 1. Simon will be serving at Romania Church from 31st August to 10th September. May God grant him strength. 2. Lydia will be serving at Basel in Switzerland from 14th-­‐17th September. May God use her service. 3. Thank God that the Gospel Class at Colchester went well and pray that God will bring those a^ending the class to faith.

Kam Hung and Mi Ting Ho (Interim Dirctor of Admin, Church PlanHng; Hull UK) Thanksgiving 1. Thank God for guiding our retreat. We have memorable Ame to relax, to listen to God's word, to cook and to laugh together. Thank God for the church family. 2. Thank God for helping Jonathan to find a job in Nofngham. Prayer request 3. We will be going to Spain with 3 other sisters to visit our missionary David and Jacky Cogman. We will be helping to do a bit of painAng and visiAng the local Chinese there. Pray that God will guide our trip and help us to adjust to the weather in Spain. 4. New students will be coming to Hull at the end of September. A mission team from our home church, Grace BapAst Church, will be coming to Hull from 22 September to 1 October. Pray that God will lead the way. 5. Please conAnue to pray for Gloria's future direcAon.


Staff Prayer Items(September / 2012) Tin Chung and Carol Wong (Church PlanHng; Exeter UK) Thanksgiving 1. Praise God for the good weather so that we had a good Ame together doing BBQ outdoor. Nearly 50 people came along for worship and BBQ alerwards. Please pray for those who are not yet ChrisAans. 2. Enoch gained a lot from PHAT camp and he also helped with children’s ministry during summer vacaAon. Please conAnue to remember his health in your prayers. 3. Praise God that Adam passed his driving test and will start his second year at university in mid September. Prayer request 4. Please pray for the evangelisAc event organized by COCM Gospel Team. Pray for the preparaAon and the venue. 5. May God use our Mandarin, Cantonese and Student Bible study groups to bless those who are coming to know more of God.

Tiger and Joy Liaw (Student Ministry/Church PlanHng; London UK) Thanksgiving 1. Ten families joined the one-­‐day ouAng and we all had a great Ame. Some couples have been to church years ago, pray that we can invite them to the family bible study. 2. Joy is 5 months pregnant; please pray for a healthy pregnancy. Prayer requests 3. For the Evangelical music event co-­‐organized with three other churches in North-­‐west London on Sat, 22nd Sept, pray for the logisAcs and invitaAon. May the Holy Spirit to touch all new comers. 4. More than ten students from Middlesex University have joined the fellowship & worship in the past month, pray that God to solen their hearts and they can invite more friends to join us. 5. More students will come in Sept and some old friends will be returned to school, pray for the outreach at two universiAes in the new school year.

Lawrence and Clara Sin (Student Ministry; Birmingham UK) Thanksgiving 1. Praise God that we have confirmed the Chinese and English speakers for Midlands Easter Conference 2013. Pray for the commi^ee that they can work out the logisAcs of the whole program of the conference. 2. Abraham was spiritually renewed aler PHAT camp and planning to serve in the youth group in church. 3. There were about 30 people coming to Nofngham Immanuel ChrisAan Fellowship on Bank holiday (27Aug) for a special event – to make dumpling together and watch the gospel video. Pray that the non-­‐believers will conAnue to come to the church. Prayer requests 4. Lawrence’s elder brother has been in hospital for over one week aler taking 2 surgeries for his gall recently. Pray that he can recover this Ame and the doctor has the wisdom for the treatment. 5. We are planning for the welcome parAes for the new students coming to Loughborough, Bath, Coventry, pray for the wisdom and the promoAon of the event and that more students will join the fellowship in the coming year. 6. Noah has arrived the US safely and started his study in the University. The courses are much more intensive this year and pray that he has the stamina to study and complete all coursework.

Chi Ming and Wing Chun Tang (ExecuHve Director -­‐ HK Office, Europe Field; HK) Thanksgiving 1. Thank God that 4 brothers and sisters are going to be bapAsed on 8th September and Chi Ming will conduct the service. 2. 12 brothers and sisters parAcipated the second session (How to Study the Bible) of a discipleship-­‐training course taught by Chi Ming. 3. Ying Wai (son) acquired his Masters Degree in Financial Management from the University of Tilburg in Holland on 29th August. Prayer requests 4. Chi Ming will leave Holland for Hong Kong on 9th September and may God bless his service in Hong Kong. 5. Den Bosch church organised a one-­‐day event of visiAng the flower exhibiAon followed by a dinner party on 7th August. Some non-­‐ ChrisAans will come to join us. Pray that the Lord will grant us good weather and bless this pre-­‐evangelisAc event. 6. Wing Chun will do the Dutch interpretaAon at Sunday service on 2nd , 16th and 30th September. May God grant her wisdom and strength. 7. Wing Chun will help the elderly people to do the blood pressure measuring at Evergreen Society. 8. Wing Chun’s brother Wing Long will undergo an operaAon, taking out his kidney stones on 26-­‐27 September. May God protect him and heal him.

May Tseng (Hong Kong Office, HK) Prayer requests 1. May’s mother was hit by a child on 20/8, thankfully her foot wasn’t fractured but is sAll swollen. During her visit to the hospital for x-­‐ray they also found that her blood pressure was high and needed to have follow-­‐up treatment. Please pray for healing. 2. Her son is in primary school year K1. May God watch over his study, guide him to build character as well as grow physically.
