“I am a former foster youth student in the INSPIRE Scholars program at College of the Canyons. Being in the foster care system is an extremely unfortunate situation, but I was able to turn a negative impact in my life into something positive because of INSPIRE Scholars. I am grateful for my two counselors, Dora Lozano and Lauren Imai, who have been a constant support system for me while in the program. Being part of INSPIRE Scholars has paved a path for my future that I once thought would never be possible; because of their constant support and encouragement, I will be graduating in June and transferring to CSU Channel Islands in the fall to continue my education!”
