OFFICIAL PARTNERS
I welcome the participants of the first open world competition of tea industry professionals! The tea culture has a history that goes back centuries: throughout the ages, tea has always continued to fascinate us, becoming a fundamental element of human existence. Every time period took its own approach to tea, but the essence of the beverage has remained the same: an incomparable taste, aroma and socio-cultural significance. Today the world of tea is as vibrant as ever, and what makes it go round are the hands of tea professionals, masters who make highest-quality tea for the fans of this wonderful beverage all over the planet.
PARTNERS
This competition – the Tea Masters Cup International – has brought together the most respected members of the tea industry. After winning national competitions, tea masters from different countries will demonstrate their skills here, and a jury of world-renowned tea experts will select a winner in each of the three competition categories: Tea Preparation, Tea Pairing and Tea Tasting. But regardless of who becomes the world champion, all of you will be winners – and the main star of the Cup will be, of course, tea itself. Because the main goal of this international competition is to bring together industry professionals and to give them an opportunity to learn from each other and to experience different tea cultures and practices. The Tea Masters Cup will demonstrate to everyone who is involved in the tea business, as well as to the general public, how innovative such “traditional” beverage as tea can be; and this means that tea is set to reach new heights!
MEDIA PARTNERS
I wish all masters success in their performances, a multitude of new experiences and many unforgettable memories of Turkish hospitality and the country’s wonderful tea! With deep respect, Ramaz Chanturiya Chainman, The Tea Masters Cup

Imdut Sutluoglu General Director of Caykur Distinguished tea masters, dear professionals, guests of Turkey!
Dear tea professionals!
I welcome you to the first Tea Masters Cup International competition! We are delighted to see representatives of the world tea industry elite here in Turkey. This Cup is a significant event for our country as well as for the world of tea as a whole.
Welcome to Turkey – the birthplace of quality tea! I am delighted that the first international competition among tea specialists of the highest caliber will take place in our country: this will provide great opportunities to enrich each other with new ideas and new practical skills as well as to establish personal friendships among tea professionals from all over the world. And I am doubly delighted that after finishing the competition this esteemed international delegation will visit the birthplace of Turkish tea, our beloved city of Rize and the surrounding region!
Tea came to our country only relatively recently, at the beginning of the last century, but it has since become a truly national beverage, a favorite of our people. Today our country is the third largest tea market in the world, with only China and India surpassing us. But we are the undisputed world leaders when it comes to per capita tea consumption, with an average citizen consuming 3,5 kilograms of tea annually. Turkish people love tea, they drink it from morning till night, with family members and with friends, in times of leisure and during business meetings. Tea is the cornerstone of social interaction in this country; we even have a saying, “A conversation without tea is like the sky without the Moon” (çaysız bir sohbet, aysız bir gökyüzü gibidir.). For many years, our tea culture was not very well known beyond our country’s borders. But the time has come to change this: we have a deep understanding of tea, we know how to brew it well and we are eager to share our knowledge with the rest of the world! We are proud that tea industry professionals from so many countries are gathering here in Turkey. We are confident that the Tea Masters Cup will give us an opportunity to show the world our country’s tea culture. You have ahead of you an unforgettable time in the Turkish capital as well as a trip to the city of Rize, the birthplace of Turkish tea. We will do everything possible to make your visit to our country memorable and exciting!
That region is the place where all Turkish tea is grown. Today tea production in Turkey is 220 thousand tons annually, and almost all that tea is sold on the domestic market. During your visit, you will be able to see every aspect of the production process, from the plantation to the factory, you will visit a scientific research laboratory devoted to tea and, of course, you will enjoy breathtaking natural beauty of northern Turkey. We will make every effort to ensure that your visit is informative and memorable. We truly hope that you will have a special place in your heart for our land and that you will keep coming back here to visit your good friends. Our open hearts and our wonderful tea will always be waiting for you! I wish you success in your professional development! Mehmet Erdogan, Chairman Rize Commodities Exchange
I wish all the tea masters much success, much self-improvement and, of course, a lot of good tea! Imdat Sutluoglu Caykur General Director
