Exploring through art Recently, EE4 students were exploring making Art with non-traditional materials and without pre-conceived outcomes. We started out by painting a large sheet of paper, covering up all of the white but being careful to not mix colors. After it dried, we then used our non-traditional items, including Q-Tips, paper towel rolls, and Styrofoam, to create lines and images in black paint. I think the results of our exploration and play are absolutely stunning! These paintings are truly Art with a capital “A” It is this kind of free creative expression that Pablo Picasso was trying to do and Jackson Pollock succeeded in doing with his action paintings. Every one of them is worth framing and should be hung proudly on a wall! If you have a chance in the next two weeks, please stop by the hallway outside the Primary Office and Library and look at EE4’s amazing Art!
