The Women' Athletic Association completed an active year by planning and organizing a varied program of athletic events. Ou standing among the events sponsored by the organization was the Student-Faculty bas ketball game. A varsity squad of women stu d nt players opposed a sextet of the faculty. Attracting even more attention than their team, wa the faculty cheering section composed of housemothers, nurse, Dean, and dietitian, appro· priately d1·essed as coeds. The board contributed to the fall social pro gram of the college by sponsoring an informal dance and entertainment at the ' Silver Dollar Cafe, " located in The Women's Union Gym. Dorothy Briggs, a mistress of ceremonie and general chairman, introduced the ' Plug Nick els, ' "The Two Bits," and other student enter tainers. W. A. A. arranged for the snow sculpturing contest on January 19 during Winter Carnival Weekend. The judges, Miss Marchant, Profes sor Green and Professor Lougee awarded tlie first prize to Louise Coburn H al l for it snow portrait of "Rowena." The Riding Club resumed its activities on campus this year. A stable was opened on May flower Hill, and hayrides and sleighrides, as well as individual riding were enjoyed.
