Christopher Henry Alexander ' Harr We wish to honour y o u for your achievements at Colby and to give you well-deserved recognition for the selfless service that you have rendered the College community and b eyond. You may never play for Liverpool or England, but what you did to help and care for that I raqi refugee family puts mere sporting ambition in the shade. Paraphrasing Saint Ignatius, you always ' give without counting the cost, fight without heeding the wounds, and toil without seeking for rest ' . You co-founded the Iraqi Refugee Awareness Movement and were elected Class and Dormitory President. You were never afraid to speak out on a wide range of important issues of the day, from the sociological to the environmental. A member of, or an active contributor to, the College Affairs Committee, Colby Echo, Monroe Center for Social Inquiry, Student Governance Association and Admissions and Financial Aid Committee, you have striven to change attitudes and, quite simply, to leave things better than you found them; the lauded contributions of others have roots in your leadership and enthusiasm. Like the D ragon, whence you ' sprung ' , you are big of heart, brave of spirit, loyal and passionate, continuing to care about what matters long after others deem it unwise, inconvenient and without advantage or p restige to do so ; and all this on top of overcoming great adversity to achieve success in your academic studies. Time now for a Dragon to move onward and upward, as only Dragons will - A rduus ad Solem - continue upon your path to The Source. With love from Mum, Dad, Neil, Samuel Hannah and Emily.
