How to apply

An apprenticeship is a great way to gain a new qualification whilst getting the skills and experience employers are looking for. It may include a vocational qualification, a technical certificate, and development of GEM, employability and personal learning and thinking skills. You will usually be expected to work full-time with day release to College to complete parts of your programme.

To apply for an apprenticeship, simply complete the application form* supplied with this guide ensuring you complete section 4 stating your apprenticeship choice and level. You will need an employer to complete your apprenticeship with. If you already have an employer lined up, there is space for you to include their details on the application form. If you do not have an employer ready to take you on, please visit www.colchester. ac.uk/apprenticeships for our live apprenticeship vacancies and support on how to find an employer. * Please note application forms are also available from your school or to download from our website.

Please contact our Student Finance team for more information or visit one of our Open Events.

There is a range of financial support available for families that are on low incomes or in receipt of certain benefits; we will support students with the costs associated with their studies, including those listed above, as well as:

Note: There are no tuition fees attached to an Apprenticeship.

Please note: trips and enrichment activities will only be funded if they are a mandatory aspect of your programme and are within the UK.
