Ideas to help at home • Explain the unit’s vocabulary in you child’s mother tongue, e.g.: planning, harvesting, processing, manufacture, process, steps, products. • Talk to your child about what s/he knows or imagines about the way products are changed before they reach us. Use concrete resources when exemplifying this, for instance a bag of chips at snack time or a newspaper. • Talk about the importance of taking care of our environment in order to be able to have food on our tables. • Read books and use other resources that talk about the topic of making products. • Join our Transition team in any activity or outing related to the topic. • Tell us about a production plant, factory or manufacturing process that you know of that would welcome our children on a visit.
