B U R G U N D Y 2016
We were fortunate to stay in the lovely hotel Clos du Columbier* in Pommard, just south of Beaune in the Cote d’Or. This is serious wine country, and the hotel has its very own vineyard on its doorstep, producing exclusively organic red Burgundy. We learned a little from our fellow guests who were there from the USA on a serious wine-tasting tour. My own interest is in the photographic opportunities, which are endless: the wonderful textures of the ancient vine stocks; the hard-working landscapes of the Cote d’Or; the buildings.
