The Messenger WILL OUR CHILDREN WORSHIP CHRIST? By Lakan Mariano A scary reality. It only takes one generation to turn away from God. “Joshua son of Nun, the servant of the LORD, died... And all that generation also were gathered to their fathers. And there arose another generation after them who did not know the LORD or the work that he had done for Israel” (Judges 2:8, 10).
From Joshua's generation who followed the LORD God to a quick slide into rebellion against God. “And the people of Israel did what was evil in the sight of the LORD and served the Baals” (v. 11); “And they abandoned the LORD” (v. 12); “They followed and worshiped various gods” (v. 12); “They aroused the LORD's anger because they forsook him and served Baal and the Ashtoreths” (vv. 12-13). That is it is so important to teach our children God's word, the Bible. That is why it is important to bring them regularly to church. That is why it is important for us to pray for them daily. That is why it is so important for them to see us reading our bible and praying and all the things that show our love for the Lord Jesus. Lord Jesus, please protect our children. May they find their greatest joy and delight and purpose in you and you alone. ~Lakan In This Issue From the Pastor AWANA Clubs Events & Upcoming Dates Summer Events Ministry Opportunity Youth Ministries College Ministries Contact Information Office Hours
