The Messenger ORDINARY CONVERSATION By Lakan Mariano The Santa Fe plaza will always be special to me. Kim and I hung out there many times. We loved the music and we loved watching and meeting people from different parts of the country. Kim loved the kitchen store, which is now gone. I sat down yesterday at an outdoor table to eat my chicken fajita burrito while enjoying the music provided by a guy from California on his Mexican harp. He said he came to Santa Fe for two weeks--twelve years ago. A man joined me at the table. He is from Los Alamos. We chitchatted about the Indian culture in the area, about history, about the changes in Santa Fe over the years. Then he asked me where I am from and what I am doing in Santa Fe. I told him about Kim. And how the Lord was so gracious to us. And how the Lord still saturates my life with his grace. When his friends arrived we shook hands. He thanked me for talking to him. I thanked him also as I introduced myself. We will probably forget each other's names but I know the Lord will remind him of his grace.

No, I did not share the full blown gospel. Nor did I get him to pray the "sinner's prayer." But I can trust the Lord that our conversation was a seed scattered on his heart. That it was one of the many gospel influences God is bringing to his life so he will see his need for Christ and trust him for his salvation. I am always amazed at how the Lord can turn ordinary conversations into reaching out to someone with his love. ~Lakan

Dear Church Family, Thank you so much for praying for the Japan Mission Team. Everything went smoothly. God provided many translators and youth to teach in all areas: gospel presentation, English class, crafts, and recreation. Marla And Rocky were free to make many new contacts for Bible Family Fellowship and After School Klub (ASK). We saw open hearts in the Ladies’ Bible Studies, the children at the orphanage and V.B.S., the young adults at the College Study, our guests at dinner dates and family camp. Please continue to pray for all. Thank you, Pam Luce
