The Messenger DON'T BE DISTRACTED It has been a common theme these last three weeks. Over and over, I heard how tired people are, how much they need rest. It is tempting to think that the longer we work, the more we can accomplish. Except we all need rest. We certainly need physical rest, but believers in Jesus Christ need their hearts refreshed by sitting at the feet of the Lord Jesus to hear His Word. This is what we do when we worship. We do not worship to appease God. We worship so God can minister to us, and we respond in prayer, in singing to our God, in giving our tithes and offerings, in joyful obedience. But that most important need that we have is often the most neglected because we are so busy. Learn from Martha's mistake. "But Martha was distracted with much serving" (Luke 10:40). Don't be distracted by your busy life. Rest. Worship. Be refreshed. ~Lakan Please celebrate October with Crockett Elementary. Bring a new adult pair of fuzzy, comfy or crazy socks to College Hills Baptist Church by October 21. We will be collecting the socks from 9/30 through October 21. We will bless the Crocket Staff with them! In This Issue From the Pastor AWANA Clubs Events & Upcoming Dates Ministry Opportunity Youth Ministries College Ministries Contact Information
