The Messenger LIVE THE LIFE! By Lakan Mariano Passages of Scripture are not Band-aids to life's booboos nor a salve to make one feel better. The Bible is the story of God, where God is the main character, the script writer, and the director. We read the Bible not so much to find out how to live, but to see and hear God inviting us to live in him, to live his life. The great men and women of the Bible saw this and made God their home. “God, it seems you’ve been our home forever” (Psalm 90:1, MSG). Instead of life being defined by feelings and circumstances, one who has trusted Christ for his salvation is now defined by the goodness of God in Christ's finished work on the cross. Instead of seeing scriptures as a guide for living, he can now enter and experience real living as he sees the Big Picture of God's story. In God's story, our individual stories find their meaning and purpose. And God as his home, he will flourish! “...the godly will flourish like palm trees and grow strong like the cedars of Lebanon. For they are transplanted to the LORD’s own house. They flourish in the courts of our God. Even in old age they will still produce fruit” Psalm 92:12-14). ~Lakan In This Issue From the Pastor AWANA Clubs Events & Upcoming Dates Ministry Opportunity Youth Ministries College Ministries Contact Information
