The Messenger THE GREATEST LOVE STORY By Lakan Mariano The story of Jesus is the greatest story ever told. It is the story of love spurned, love persisting, love rescuing the loved one at the cost of the Lover’s life. It is story of suffering, and nails, and the cross, and the surprise story of resurrection and joyful redemption and glorious life. It is the story of the Groom coming for His bride to save her and the lovers riding off into eternity to live happily ever after. The story of Jesus is the Gospel story. Several people have said that all good stories have elements of the Gospel. Because it is what our hearts long for. This morning, I am reading from Luke 1:26-38 and simply explaining the text, focusing on the names given to Jesus. I do not have to make it exciting for it is exciting as it is.

I do not have to make it relevant because it is relevant at any time, at all times. Like a mail carrier delivering God’s message, I just have to faithfully and accurately deliver it. For in it are life and hope, joy and perseverance, promise and fulfillment. Yes, the story of Jesus is the greatest love story ever told.
