This year you will find the Parks and Recreation office at its new location in City Hall on the second floor. We may be at a new location, but we still promise great services! We will continue to strive to create the best community through Colleyville’s people, parks and programs. This year we have NEW classes, Baby Sing and Sign on page 4, for the younger kids, and Creative Movement for Women on page 9, for adults. The Senior Center offers an array of programming from yoga to Euchre on page 11, for active adults. We even have X-Dog Agility at Sparger Park and other classes for the family pet on page 9. No matter what your New Year’s resolution is this year, Colleyville Parks and Recreation has a class, program or park that can help you succeed. Youth Enrichment Tot Tumbling and Sports This class will prepare your small tot physically and emotionally to perform in organized sports. Skills like throwing, catching, kicking, batting and gymnastics will be practiced during classes. Baby Sing and Sign Just because babies can't talk yet doesn't mean you can't communicate with them. This approach combines rich musical experiences with baby sign—utilizing materials that are; available at home or in a daycare setting. Learn how much fun singing and signing with babies can be! Jo-Ann's Little Dancers These classes develop a child's poise and coordination, while teaching fundamentals of ballet and tap. Classes promote group interaction skills and build your child's self-esteem and positive self-image. Students develop rhythm and music appreciation skills. Little dancers can showcase their new skills at the formal spring recital held at the conclusion of the April 16–May 7 session. Additional costume and recital fees will apply. No class on March 12. Really Big and Teeny Tiny Doodlers It's all about scale in this creative camp that will delight you as you create art that challenges dimensions from massive to miniature. Your creative ideas will flow as you create cool globes inspired by the Cool Globe Project that is currently touring around the world. You will learn about saving our planet and create awe-inspiring art. You will make murals, geometric sculptures, as well as playing creative games with music to help set the tone, and much more! Pastel Drawing Pastels are an exciting media and Young Rembrandts step-by-step method ensures dramatic and successful results. Athletics Spring Break Basketball/Dodgeball Camp Register for both classes for an ALL DAY camp for the week or pick one for a little Spring Break-ball fun! If registering for both classes, bring a sack lunch, snack and drink. No refrigeration available. Registration ends March 7 for spring break camps. Basketball TECH is designed for players of all skills and abilities. Program time will focus on basketball fundamentals, including shooting and rebounding. This is a skill-based program that utilizes drills and games to reinforce the skills being taught. Part of each class time will be used for game scrimmages. Beginner Golf This interactive golf clinic offers a fun curriculum designed to give you maximum time with a club in your hand. Athletics Girls on the Run Girls on the Run (GOTR) uses interactive activities, such as running and creative games, to teach you about important issues. You’ll learn to deal with peer pressure, body image, making healthy decisions, teamwork and giving back to the community. Girls train together to walk or run a 5K at the end of the season on April 28. Fee includes 20 unique lessons by GOTR-trained staff, GOTR t-shirt and entrance to the Girls on the Run 5K. Volleyball Mini Camp This all-skill-volleyball camp brings the most qualified volleyball coaches in the region to Colleyville. Colleyville Girls Youth Volleyball League The league is designed to introduce young ladies, from 9 to 13 years, to the game of volleyball. It was created to provide a safe, fun environment to learn the basic premises of the game through practices, teaching fundamental volleyball skills, sports ethics and league competition. Players will get an hour and a half of practice each week, with volleyballs provided both at practices and games. Players will also receive a team t-shirt. Register as a team or an individual. Coaches can register an entire team with a minimum of eight players and maximum of 10 players at a discounted rate. A clinic for volunteer coaches will be available. Placement on a particular team is not guaranteed. The season will end with a single-elimination tournament. Games are on Saturdays starting March 31 through May 19. Registration ends March 15. This is a courtesy to our instructors and other participants enrolled. Satisfaction Guaranteed! If for any reason, you are unhappy with a class, we will refund your money, transfer you to another class or provide you a credit. Refund and Transfer Policy Full refunds will be granted when requested five days prior to the start date of the class. Refunds requested less than five days will be granted a refund less a $5 administrative fee. If courses are cancelled by the Parks and Recreation Department due to low enrollment or other circumstances, the participant may: request to transfer to another class, have registration fee applied to account, use at a later date or receive a full refund by check (mailed 7 to 10 business days) to your home address. No cash refunds.
