Park Spotlight
Spotlighting . . .
City Park and Kidsville 5205 Bransford Road
Colleyville’s park system got its start in 1958, with the purchase of 10 acres on Bransford Road. The land was needed because the children had lost their playing field, and parents were in a panic that they would lose their Little League. Baseball fields were built and fences were erected in this first phase of present-day City Park, by a parents group, using their own equipment and at their personal expense. The Kidsville playground was renovated in the winter of 2011. The grand opening was held that March and the new tree house playground has been enjoyed by thousands of children since. City Park includes an amphitheater, two basketball courts, covered pavilion, horseshoe pits, 1 mile multi-use trail, pond, six tennis courts, tree house playground, and youth baseball and softball fields. The pavilion is available for rent.
