HAUNTED TRAIL FEST

One of Colleyville’s most popular events, Haunted Trail Fest features a trip along a wooden path filled with scary creatures, spooky sounds, and ghostly special effects. Costumed ghouls gather for a night of games, prizes, and fun before venturing down the haunted trail. Costume contests (for those 12 & under) make for a hauntingly happy experience. Trail activities cater to younger children from 6:00-7:30 p.m.; the fright factor intensifies after 7:30 p.m. For more information, call 817.503.1161.

The city opens the holiday season with the lighting of festive trees decorated by local community groups. This event features children’s crafts and activities, choral groups, photos with Santa and much more.

The library is undergoing a makeover! Spatial remodeling of both floors has begun and is slated to continue for approximately nine weeks. Enhancements will include updated furniture, new children’s computers, improved access to new books and videos, and a renovated parent and toddler area. While the library will strive to maintain general public access throughout the construction process, please be advised that all library programs, classes and events are subject to change. Once the transformation is completed be on the lookout for a special event celebrating the new spaces and the library’s 15th anniversary.

REGISTRATION OPENS FOR STORY TIMES AND PROGRAMS Enjoy stories, crafts and fun activities at the library during story time. Registration is open to all library card holders. Space is limited, so register early. Preference will be given to Colleyville residents; non-residents will be notified if a spot is available. Story times and programs are available for newborns through grade 5 and last for twelve weeks. Chess Club is open to ages 8-15. Registration requests will be processed as quickly as possible in the order they are received. A staff member will call or email all story time registrants to confirm whether there is a spot available in the class. The Colleyville Public Library makes an effort to include as many children as possible in program activities that our safety and staffing guidelines allow.

Movement and music are all part of the fun in this exciting program designed to encourage a healthy lifestyle for preschoolers. We will enjoy crafts, stories, experiments and socializing!

Exploratorium features fun science experiments, awesome hands-on activities, art projects, and a snack for early elementary students.

Put your budding imagination to the test with hands-on S.T.E.A.M. exploration. A variety of activities will be on rotation.

BOUNCE TIME

“ROCKET” READERS

This unstructured library time features a play area and music for our youngest library patrons and their caregivers. Caregiver attendance is required.

Reading is vital for children to succeed in school and in life, but many of them struggle with reading. What better listener than a friendly, non-judgmental dog from the Heart of Texas Therapy Dogs program? These programs are growing in libraries across the country and researchers report a rise in reading levels among participating children. Independent readers (grades 1-5) can bring a favorite book from home or choose one from the library and read it to a furry friend while here at the library! “Rocket” Readers is conducted on a first-come, first-served basis.
