Winter Reading Club “Catch a Dragon by the Tale”

Get fired up to read during the Winter Reading Club beginning January 16. The winter reading program runs for 12 weeks and ends on Saturday, April 8. Sign up at the Youth Services or Circulation Desk and receive your punch card and book bag.
How does it work?
Hours: Monday and Wednesday 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
The program is open to children ages 0-12 years. Starting on Monday, January 16 children can begin tracking the number of books they check out and receive dragon “scales” to add to the community dragon.
Tuesday and Thursday 10:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
• All materials must be checked out from the Colleyville Public Library. • Books must be kept at least one night.

Family Movie
Bat enthusiast Jerry Schneider will present an informational and exciting program about the wonderful world of bats. His slide show and audio program will give the audience insight into the bats in our attics, vampire bats, bat eyesight, migration, hibernation, and echolocation. Audiences will leave with a better understanding of the vital roles that bats play in our environment. The program will conclude with a t-shirt craft. Bring your own white t-shirt or buy one for $4.

REGISTRATION OPENS FOR STORY TIMES AND CHESS CLUB Enjoy stories, crafts, and fun activities at the library during story time. Registration is open to all library card holders. Space is limited, so register early. Preference will be given to Colleyville residents; non-residents will be notified if a spot is available. Story times are available for newborns through grade 2 and last for twelve weeks. Chess Club is open to ages 8-15. Caregivers must fill out one registration form per child. **PLEASE NOTE**: Submission of a story time registration form DOES NOT guarantee the child a spot in the class. Registration requests will be processed as quickly as possible in the order they are received and priority is given to residents of Colleyville. A staff member will call or email all story time registrants to confirm whether there is a spot available in the class. The Colleyville Public Library makes an effort to include as many children as possible in story time activities that our safety and staffing guidelines allow.
