YOUTH CLASSES Our Time – On the Go! Our Time encourages toddlers to uncover an engaging musical world while building confidence, self-control, and communications skills. Singing, imitating sounds, rhyming, and object identification foster language skills, while creative movement to various musical “moods” develops a sense of balance, timing, and spatial awareness. Listening and turntaking encourage blossoming social skills. For the toddler, every day brings new discoveries and opportunities to explore the world. Despite a display of independence, the 1.5 to 3 year old child still longs for the safety and security of parental closeness. Kindermusik Our Time encourages children to be creative, to initiate their own ideas and to respond in their own ways, while the parents’ active participation gives the toddlers the security they need. Playing instruments, singing, moving, and exploring uncover an engaging musical world while building the toddlers’ confidence, self-control, and communications skills. For more information, or to register, please visit www.KatsMusik.com. No class the week of Nov. 20-24. Day/Time: Thu., 9:30-10:15 a.m. Dates: Sep. 14-Dec. 14 Day/Time: Fri., 10:30-11:15 a.m. Dates: Sep. 15-Dec. 15 Day/Time: Mon., 5:30-6:15 p.m. Dates: Sep. 18-Dec. 11 Ages: 1.5-3.5, with parent(s)/caregiver Fees: $70 per month, includes home materials Location: McPherson Park Rock House Instructor: Kat’s Musik

Imagine That! Individuality and Independence Imagine That! takes the preschooler on a musical journey of discovery and exploration…a journey limited only by the power of imagination. Pretend play activities are integrated with music, vocal development, storytelling, movement, and literature to capture the preschooler’s potential to learn and to encourage cognitive and literacy skills, creativity and individuality. Designed for active, energetic, enthusiastic, and imaginative children ages 3.5 to 5, Imagine That! classes encourage socialization, sharing, and participating in group activities. Singing becomes a focus for enhancing the preschooler’s vocal development as expressive language is just beginning to emerge. The parent and child have fun participating together in the last 10-15 minutes of class during Sharing Time, where they’ll also learn about Home Activities they can enjoy together throughout the week.
