Tot Tumbling and Sports This class will prepare your small tot physically and emotionally to perform in organized sports. Skills like throwing, catching, kicking, and gymnastics will be practiced during class. Your tot will work through team stations and perform tasks that gradually build confidence in a fun and kid friendly environment.

These classes will develop poise and coordination while teaching the fundamentals of ballet and tap. Soccer Shots Mini is a high-energy program introducing children to fundamental soccer principles, such as using your feet, dribbling, and the basic rules of the game. Summer Volleyball League The league is designed to introduce young ladies to the game of volleyball. It was created to provide a safe, fun environment to learn the basic premises of the game through practices, teaching the fundamental volleyball skills, sport ethics, and league competition. A team will consist of a minimum of 8 players and maximum of 12 players. Teams will practice an hour each week. Players will receive a team t-shirt. Registration can be completed online or in person. To register, the team coach must contact the Recreation Department at 817.503.1180 with their team information. At that time, the coach will be given a team code to give to their team to register. Signing up as an individual or a free agent does not guarantee your child a spot on a team. A coach will have to volunteer in order for a team of free agents to be formed. If and when a coach volunteers, a staff member will contact individuals with team information. If you would like to coach, please call 817.503.1180 for more details. SUMMER CAMPS Junior Police Academy The Colleyville Police Department’s Junior Police Academy is a great opportunity for the youth of Colleyville to learn what it takes to be a police officer. During this one week mini academy, the students will gain knowledge of some of the functions their local law enforcement professionals perform on a daily basis. The students will learn pertinent information that can affect them in their community. Officers of the Colleyville Police Department provide the students instruction on many different facets of the police profession, including traffic stops, handling crime scenes, SWAT operations, and conducting building searches. Max of 16 students by Friday, May 24. A written recommendation from a school official (teacher, principal, SRO, or counselor) and parental permission slip must be turned in to Officer Amy Beregszaszy at aberegszaszy@colleyville.com. Integrity Volleyball Club Clinic Participants will have 3 practice sessions with Integrity coaches and each session will include 75-90 minutes of skill development and 30-45 minutes of game like play that will apply these skills. We will also work on offensive and defensive transitions and court positioning during the 30-45 minutes of game like situations. This program trains players to play club volleyball at the 10U - 13U level and is a great place to get started on getting ready for Middle School Volleyball! MAX OF 40 PLAYERS. CSA Evolution Camp Serious and seriously fun soccer in Colleyville! Structured curriculum designed for field players born 2004 to 2009 who are gearing up for select tryouts and goalkeepers born 2004 to 2011. Players train 8:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. daily with a lunch break at noon. A half-day program is also offered. Daily warm up with juggling, soccer tennis, speed, agility, and quickness training to get bodies and minds ready. Daily skills topics include dribbling, passing, shooting, and defending. Goalkeepers will work on shot stopping, reactions, crosses and long balls, scrimmage situations, and tactics. We’ll cool down with a case study of a top professional player and a lunch break. Then players will apply what they have learned in small-sided world cup matches to wrap up the full day. Friday features challenges and world cup finals. Fire Camp

The Force Awakens in this introductory engineering course for young Jedi! Explore engineering principles by designing and building projects using LEGOÂŽ materials such as X-Wings, R2 Units, Energy Catapults, Defense Turrets, and Settlements from a galaxy far, far away. Create motorized and architectural projects with imagination and engineering to defeat the Empire!

Instructed by Colleyville firefighters, campers get hands-on experience practicing the skills required to be a firefighter. Campers learn CPR, first aid, and how to use a fire extinguisher, as well as participate in fun firefighter activities like fire hose relays, using the jaws of life, and repelling. Jedi Master Engineering using LEGO The Force Awakens in this advanced engineering course for young Jedi! Fortnite Gliding Based on the apocalyptic survival game theme, the kids will use the scratch coding tool to recreate the floating bus, aerostatic balloon, and glider effect. The kids will trace their own digital images, design the landing terrain, and use coding to animate the flying and landing scenes. This camp will focus on creativity and programming logic. It will not include any destruction or violence. The kids are welcome to bring their own electronics to play during the break. Little Veterinarian School In this 15 hour summer camp, students will learn how to make important measurements, make assessments and perform an exam, understand the importance of proper nutrition and hydration, discuss what to do when a dog is injured, what are lacerations and proper care of stitches, how to inspect and properly remove ticks, how to give medicine to a dog, the purpose of vaccinations and how the body builds immunities, discuss different types of radiographs, how they are taken and how to read them, be able to name, label, and explain digestive organs, what happens when a foreign body is stuck in the digestive tract, be able to differentiate between the types of dog body language, name and label parts of the dogs eye, and discuss dog vision, discuss what it takes to become a Vet and type of Veterinary careers. SUMMER CAMPS Golf Camp One of our most popular programs, Skyhawks Golf focuses on building the confidence of young athletes through proper technique and refining the essential skills of the game. As we know, golf is a challenging and lifelong sport, so young athletes need proper focus on the fundamentals of form, swinging, putting, and body positioning. To assist in this training, Skyhawks Golf is specifically designed for the entry-level player; Skyhawks simplifies instruction so that young players can make an easy and effective transition onto the golf course. While you can bring your own clubs, all equipment is provided. For safety reasons we keep the instructor to camper ratio for this program low, resulting in limited availability. My First Business – Lemonade Stand Students get a first-class lesson on how to become entrepreneurs by running their own lemonade stand! This is not your old-school lemonade business. Students create a real-life business plan by defining their target market, product survey, data analysis, cost analysis, expense report, and more! Students will then create, mix, and test their new lemonade recipe. Parents will be invited to “Lemonade Day” on the last day of camp to sample their new creations. SUMMER CAMPS Start a YouTube Animation Channel Create your own YouTube animation channel. Define the channel’s concept and mission. Develop scripts using a storywriter tool. Use Flash to create storyboards. Learn the basics of sound recording using the Audacity tool. Then, use Adobe Animate to create backdrops and object symbols. Combine digital elements with the use of our digital puppets to create animated shorts. Given the amount of time that is needed to animate, students will not create their own characters but use our cartoon characters to practice animation. BRAINopolis will enable laptops for the kids to work in class. Bring your own mouse and flash drive to class. Little Medical School In this 15 hour summer camp, students will learn about and use tools that doctors use, understand how the heart, lungs, and the organs of digestion work through discussion and role playing, be able to identify the organs of the body as well as learning how to suture, tie surgical knots and role play surgery. Students will learn how to treat minor injuries, make a first aid kit, be able to identify the different parts of the brain and what the parts control, make a model of the brain, understand why we burp and belch, identify the level of the spine and what the spin does, understand what a prescription is and how they are dispensed, make a done model, and complete skeleton sticker set, discuss the parts of the eye and how the eyes work. Students will go home with a real stethoscope, disposable lab coat, practice sutures, first aid kit, “mucus”, worksheets, human body and skeleton sticker sets, brain, spine, bone, and eye models, brain hat, and diploma. Each day students will learn techniques used in cartooning. Subjects like characteristics, features, exaggeration, action, and personification will contribute to your child’s artistic advancement! Immerse into a hands-on anatomy experience as you dress up as a surgeon, learn anatomy, and perform a guided shark specimen dissection. We will provide you with the safety equipment to use in class. You will also create a shark project to take home.

This gentle class practiced to soothing music combines poses, breath work, and relaxation, giving you an overall body stretch. Enjoy the addition of passively held Yin poses that work on the deep dense connective tissues of the body; the tendons, ligaments, and cartilage. Yin helps release and surrender the body consequently releasing and surrendering the mind. This results in letting go, becoming calmer, and being less reactive to stressors. Pilates and Sculpt – Stretch, Strengthen, and Tone WHY PILATES? Pilates is engineered to condition the entire body. Combining toning work with gentle stretches, Pilates mat exercises increase both muscular strength and joint flexibility. Pilates will work everything from your abdominal/core muscles, to the tip of your toes to your shoulders – toning and strengthening where needed and increasing flexibility when appropriate. An upper body strength training segment will follow the mat exercises, utilizing light weights. Heartfulness Meditation Heartfulness is a simple and effective way to integrate meditation into our daily life. The hearftulness technique shows us to gently turn our attention towards our heart and experience that inner presence for ourselves. FITNESS CLASSES Tai Chi + Qigong (Chi Kung) Qigong (Chi Kung) is slow repetitive movements. Qigong can be used as a stand-alone series of movements or a warm-up to Tai Chi. Learn YangWu Tai Chi short form for a moving meditation, stress relief. Both Qigong and Tai Chi movements involve fluid movements of arms and legs, coordinated with breath and focus on balance. These low-impact movements improve health with no special equipment and use minimum effort for the movement. As the body relaxes, the mind becomes tranquil, aware, and alert. For ease of movement, wear loose fitting clothing. Usually, exercises are done without shoes for better balance. Movements can be done sitting or standing.
