Senior Center Membership Memberships are available to those ages 50+. Memberships are required for anyone participating in any senior class, program, or activity, or for anyone using the fitness facility. Resident membership: No annual fee; Non-resident membership: $10 per year.

FITNESS CLASSES Tai Chi + Qigong (Chi Kung) Qigong (Chi Kung) is slow repetitive movements. Qigong can be used as a stand-alone series of movements or a warm-up to Tai Chi. Learn YangWu Tai Chi short form for a moving meditation, stress relief. Both Qigong and Tai Chi movements involve fluid movements of arms and legs, coordinated with breath and focus on balance. These low-impact movements improve health with no special equipment and use minimum effort for the movement. As the body relaxes, the mind becomes tranquil, aware, and alert. For ease of movement, wear loose fitting clothing. Usually, exercises are done without shoes for better balance. Movements can be done sitting or standing. Free introductory class held on Apr. 29 from 1:00-2:00 p.m. No class on May 27. Yoga Flow Basics Each month, the class begins by teaching basic alignment of selected poses, breath work, and meditation. As the class progresses, new poses are added creating a flow using these poses and synchronizing them with proper breathing. Each class utilizes warm-up poses to allow deeper stretching and cool-down poses to release the muscles and allow for complete relaxation. No experience necessary. The class is designed to provide options for all levels. Join the fun as Senior Center members visit various locations, both near and far. Venues will vary from sports and education to entertainment and special interest. Transportation is provided and will depart from the Senior Center. Payment is non-refundable and is due at the time of registration.

Let Me Be Myself: The Life Story of Anne Frank

Explore the garden on foot and experience the serenity surrounding the lakes, pathways, and bridges throughout this garden escape. The guided tour, led by a trained docent or staff member, will lead the group along winding trails as they share their favorite hidden places.

The Dallas Holocaust Museum is proud to present the Texas debut of a newlycreated special exhibition, Let Me Be Myself: The Life Story of Anne Frank. Let Me Be Myself tells the story of Anne Frank in a modern way, addressing current day issues of identity, exclusion, and discrimination.

Half Price Books Clearance Sale

Visitors can see where billions of dollars are printed from an enclosed walkway, which is suspended above the production floor! Over half of the nation’s currency order is produced in Fort Worth. The experience includes an informative theater film and visitors have the opportunity to walk through two floors of interactive exhibits and displays showcasing currency history and the intricate art of currency manufacturing. Also located in the visitor center is the Moneyfactory Gift Shop where the public can purchase souvenir items including uncut currency sheets and other specialty currency products.

Everything is $2 or less at this three day clearance sale that features more than 100,000 square feet of books, music, movies, and more. Restocking daily!

Line Dancing Beginner class is for students with previous dance experience. Students should be capable of learning basic steps: grapevine, chasse, jazz box, etc. Routines up to 48 counts may include rhythms like Waltz or Cha Cha and tempos are slow to moderate. Improver/Intermediate students need previous dance experience and basic skills. Dances will introduce new step patterns: coaster step, rolling grapevines, swivets, etc. Routines up to 64 counts may include various tempos and rhythms and feature pauses, syncopation, timing variations, etc. For full descriptions of levels visit www.linedancerlite.com. *Classes on the first Wednesday of each month will start 30 minutes later than advertised.

Tap with Judy

Learn to tap dance. No dance experience required and all levels welcome.

This class starts with a warm-up of basic steps with movements forward, backward, and side to side. Learn a routine with progressive steps introduced each week. Previous tap experience required.
