Yoga Flow
Each month begins by exploring the alignment of poses, breath work, and meditation. Class begins with warm-up poses that allow you to stretch deeper and ends with cool-down poses to release muscles, allowing a deep relaxation. Each class adds poses, creating a fun flow, synchronizing with each breath. The last class of each month will feature a Yin Yoga session. No experience necessary, class is designed to provide options for all levels. No class Nov. 26 and Nov. 28.

Restorative Yoga + Meditation
Ease into a relaxed state with this 45-minute restorative and meditation practice. You will be guided through breath work and stretching to relieve tightness in the body, followed by holding a meditative state while sitting on mats and lying in postures for several minutes. Props are encouraged to help the body release. This practice is for beginners as well as seasoned practitioners. Please join us for a class that will allow you to de-stress, unwind, let go of daily distractions, and be more at peace when you leave.

This class is designed to improve posture, strengthen your core, and work on muscle imbalances, spine mobility, and light strength training. The “Plus” means the exercises are geared towards functional movements for all adults 50 and up! Everyone will have a chair for standing and seated support. This class is for all fitness levels. Active Aging Fun & Fitness
Have fun and move to the music through various exercises designed to increase muscular strength, balance, range of motion, and spine mobility; all essentials to living an active, healthier lifestyle. Chair Yoga is a gentle form of yoga practiced in a chair. The class begins seated and moves to standing with or without using a chair for balance. Participants may choose to stay seated the entire time. Chair Yoga helps increase strength, flexibility, balance, and mind-body awareness. Research shows benefits may include lower levels of stress, anxiety, depression, blood pressure, cholesterol, and pain.

Senior Tai Chi
Tai Chi, also known as “meditation in motion,” is identified as one of the best exercises for seniors to maintain and improve balance while also helping to increase strength, flexibility, and stamina. As a low impact exercise, Tai Chi promotes mental and physical health. Starting with a warm up of standing stretches, the class will work on a standard form of slow movements that flow together seamlessly. Wear comfortable clothing and bring a water bottle. No class Nov. 11 and Dec. 25.

Tai Chi 2.0
In order to sign up for this class students need to know the basic Yang style forms and have a strong background in 24-form. The 2.0 class will focus on practicing and fine-tuning the 24-form as well as learning the 32-form or Tai Chi Fang. Wear loose or comfortable clothing as work on balance, energy, and flow is integral to the lessons. As always, it is good practice to bring a water bottle to stay hydrated. No class Nov. 11 and Dec. 25.

Zumba Gold
Zumba Gold introduces easy-to follow Zumba choreography that focuses on flexibility, muscular conditioning, balance, range of motion, and coordination. Participants must be able to walk without assistance for this class. Come ready to sweat to world rhythms, and prepare to leave empowered and feeling strong! Bring water and a sweat towel. Try a promotional Zumba Gold class on Aug. 22 at 10:00 a.m.
Qigong is a combination of two Chinese words, “Qi” (Chi) which means life force or vital energy, and “gong” which means cultivation or practice. Qigong exercise focuses on harnessing and balancing the body’s vital energy to promote health and well-being. The class will focus on repetition of simple poses and low-impact movements in a way to strengthen muscles and improve overall fitness. Stationary poses and flowing postures help increase balance, energy, and flexibility. Because it is low impact and can be done sitting or standing, Qigong is suitable for all levels. Loose fitting or comfortable clothing and a water bottle are recommended.

Walking Club
Enjoy a fun way to get outside, get some steps in, and meet new friends. This group meets inside the Senior Center for warm-up stretches before heading to the half-mile, paved walking trail behind the building. After your walk head back inside for cool-down stretches. A free, reusable water bottle is available for anyone who joins the club! No meeting Nov. 11, Nov. 28, Dec. 24, and Dec. 25.

Join us for an exciting new session of Texas Hold ‘Em Poker! Whether you’re a seasoned pro or new to the game, this class offers a friendly and welcoming environment for players of all skill levels. In this class, you’ll learn the rules and strategies of Texas Hold ‘Em, one of the most popular variations of poker worldwide. Instructor, Jerry Hauske, will guide you through the fundamentals of the game, including hand rankings, betting rounds, and table etiquette. AARP Smart Driver Course
Improve driving skills and be more aware of other drivers to ensure greater safety on the road. Confused by Medicare?
Whether you are aging into Medicare this year or are already enrolled, come to this complimentary workshop which will cover part A, B, C, and D of this government health benefit that can be quite confusing. Come and learn more about the basics and intricacies of Medicare at this session which will be hosted by Matt Curry, a licensed insurance agent. Topics to be covered include the differences between basic government Medicare, Medicare Supplements, Medicare Advantage Plans, Part D drug plans, and former employer supplemental coverage available to some participants. This is an educational event so no need to bring your checkbook. This event is for you to relax and ask questions to be better informed about your choices. Tarrant County Public Health Emergency Preparedness Seminar
Texas is the most impacted state in the U.S. regarding natural disasters, so knowing how to prepare is essential. This personal preparedness presentation aims to introduce various aspects of being prepared for emergencies and disasters. Participants will learn about the different types of disasters they are at risk of, how to create an emergency plan, how to build a disaster supply kit, and how to sign up for emergency alerts. Explore art mediums while learning fundamentals of art as we explore a variety of topics, artists, and art techniques. A $15 supply fee is due to the instructor the day of each class.

If so, come sit and stitch each Tue. morning with fellow needleworkers. Beginner to advanced needleworkers are welcome. This is not an instructional class but rather an opportunity to wield needles in the presence of others; however, there is plenty of collective advice and knowledge to be shared for anyone who may need a helping hand.
