Adult Classes Beginning Yoga

Intermediate Yoga

Gentle Stretch Yoga

Candlelight Yin Yoga

Enjoy a supportive class environment while being introduced to the basics of yoga. The physical and mental benefits include increased flexibility, strength, stamina, awareness, concentration, balance, and grace. Most of all yoga is fun and will leave you feeling relaxed, refreshed, and peaceful.

This class offers a flowing practice that appeals to experienced yoga students comfortable with yoga postures and sun salutations. This “vinyasa” flow integrates breath and movement, inner and outer alignment, and strength and flexibility, and will leave you feeling relaxed, refreshed, and peaceful.

This gentle class, practiced to soothing music, combines Level 1 poses, breath work, and meditation. It is geared toward students who wish to move at a slower pace, as well as those that desire a more gentle practice between more vigorous activities. Props are used for gentle relaxation and deepening the restorative benefits of the poses.

This form of yoga uses long, passive holds to work on the deep, dense connective tissues of the body—the tendons, ligaments, and cartilage—that are difficult to energize and open. Longer holds facilitate deeper opening and increased flexibility, especially in the spine and hips, as well as rehabilitation for the joints and muscles. Benefits of passively holding the poses include restorative benefits, deep relaxation, and balance.

Who may enter?

One of the most popular programs offered by the city, the Colleyville Public Library’s Summer Reading Program kicks off on Friday, June 7. Summer Reading is open to children, teens, and adults. Registration begins Monday, June 3. The program concludes with a grand finale on Friday, Aug. 2.

The Summer Reading Program is open to children, teens, and adults. Those ages 12 and under are considered to be in the children’s category; teens are those ages 13-18. Adults are those 19 and over.

The Summer Reading Program’s kick-off features a Wizard of Oz theme, as book lovers head “over the rainbow” to discover all the great adventures to be found at the library. We’ll keep moving down the yellow brick road all summer with lots of free daily activities, including weekly story times for children (ages 18 months-grade 3), Chess Club (ages 8-15), LEGO Mania, Globetrotters (grades 3-5), and Friday Family Movies. Tuesdays and Thursdays mean amazing entertainment, including live animals, magic shows, ventriloquists, Mad Science, All-American Frisbee Dogs, and more!

Beginning Monday, June 3, everyone can earn rewards by tracking the number of books they read or the number of minutes they read.

So pack your bags and travel with us on an amazing journey to all the wondrous lands and places the love of reading brings… right to your door. The Colleyville Public Library’s 2013 Summer Reading Program is made possible with funds from the Robert J. and Helen H. Glaser Family Foundation.

How does it work?

• All materials must be checked out from the Colleyville Public Library • Books must be kept at least one night • Keep all reading receipts and attach them to the reading logs provided

How do I count my reading? Reading can be counted by book titles or by time. • Title log (8 books) • Time log (5 hours = 300 minutes)

What kind of reading counts for children? • Reading a book • Audiobooks or e-audiobooks • Listening to a story

• Library story time • Books on CD • e-books

What are the prizes for children, teens, and adults? For children, first prize is a summer reading t-shirt and goodie bag, plus an entry form for the grand prize drawing. Subsequent reading rewards are a prize from the Emerald City Prize Room, plus an additional entry form for the grand prize drawing. For teens and adults, read or listen to a book or attend teen or adult programs. Complete a prize entry form for each book or program. Weekly drawings will be held in the teen and adult categories. Participants that have entered five forms will be eligible for the grand prize drawing and receive a t-shirt.

June 7 is the first day to claim a prize. All prizes must be claimed no later than July 27.
