Cody joined the Colleyville team in July 2012 and has played a vital role in creating a warm and welcoming environment to the Senior Center and it’s members due to his kind and patient demeanor. He is a proud UNT alum, go Mean Green! In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family and playing at various golf courses. Cody oversees the daily operations of the Senior Center.

Wes joined the Colleyville team in September 2023. His recreation background includes active adult and general programming. Outside of work you might find Wes golfing, spending time with his family, or cheering on the local sport teams. Wes is responsible for coordinating volunteers, programs, and sponsor stewardship for the Senior Center.

Senior Center Membership Memberships are available to those ages 50 and over. Memberships are required for anyone participating in any senior class, program, or activity, or for anyone using the fitness facility. Resident membership: No annual fee Non-resident membership: $10 per year

Jazzercise Lo-Impact
Yoga Flow
Use muscles, not momentum to get a total-body workout that brings all the dance fitness fun without the hop. A combination of cardio and strength training for a heart-healthy workout that keeps your body strong. Each month begins by exploring the alignment of poses, breath work, and meditation. Class begins with warmup poses that allow you to stretch deeper and ends with cool-down poses to release muscles, allowing a deep relaxation. Each class adds poses, creating a fun flow, synchronizing with each breath. No experience necessary, class is designed to provide options for all levels.

Pilates - Strength & Core Pilates - Strength & Core is designed for active adults to help strengthen and tone your body, increase flexibility and balance, as well as improve bone density, posture, and coordination. Pilates mat exercises will work everything from your abdominal/core muscles, to the tip of your toes to your shoulders – toning and strengthening where needed and increasing flexibility when appropriate. An upper body strength training segment will follow the mat exercises, utilizing light weights. Along with improving your overall fitness level, this class will leave you feeling refreshed, without stress or strain to your joints. Modifications included for all levels. Please bring a thick mat and a set of two or threepound weights. Zumba Gold Fit for the young at heart, get active with great people at the dance party workout that moves at your pace. FITNESS CLASSES Drum Fit Strength & Stretch Learn fresh patterns combined with movement while tapping foam “drum” sticks on various surfaces. New routines are introduced every four to five weeks. Strengthen and stretch at the end of each class. Join the fun responding to groovy music! There is a discount available when registering for multiple classes in the same month. You must register through the Senior Center either in-person or over the phone to receive the discount. Senior Tai Chi Tai Chi, also known as “meditation in motion,” is identified as one of the best exercises for seniors to maintain and improve balance while also helping to increase strength, flexibility, and stamina. As a low impact exercise, Tai Chi promotes mental and physical health. Starting with a warm up of standing stretches, the class will work on a standard form of slow movements that flow together seamlessly. Wear comfortable clothing and bring a water bottle. Beginner Line Dancing Beginner class is for students with previous dance experience. Students should be capable of learning basic steps: grapevine, chasse, jazz box, etc. Routines up to 48 counts may include rhythms like Waltz or Cha Cha and tempos are slow to moderate. Improver Line Dancing Improver students need previous dance experience and basic skills. You Can Oil Paint a Masterpiece Even if you’ve never held a paint brush or can’t draw a straight line you will be amazed at the beautiful oil painting you can create in one inspiring lesson. Beginners learn basics of color mixing, brushstrokes, and perspective while completing a landscape, seascape, or still life in this fun and easy class taught by award-winning instructor, Christen Garden. All supplies; canvas, paint, brushes, medium, easel, detailed lesson plan, and instruction are provided. Bring paper towels and wear old clothes. Acrylic Painting Join instructor Maria Rushton-Clem as she guides you through the art of acrylic painting. Maria began painting after the profound loss of her mother. A lifelong creator using many different mediums, she settled on the vibrant colors of acrylic paint to define her signature style. All experience levels are welcome. Sit & Stitch Do you do needlepoint, cross stitch, ribbon embroidery, hand embroidery, beading, knitting, crochet, or anything with a needle in hand? If so, come sit and stitch each Tue. morning with fellow needleworkers. Beginner to advanced needleworkers are welcome. This is not an instructional class but rather an opportunity to wield needles in the presence of others; however, there is plenty of collective advice and knowledge to be shared for anyone who may need a helping hand. AARP Smart Driver Course Improve driving skills and be more aware of other drivers to ensure greater safety on the road.
