The submarine Dock (Dock No.3) boasting of a capacity of 9,000 DWT, with the ability of handling vessels up to a length of 123 meters and width of 15 meters, had been built during the second world war specifically for submarines. The long and narrow shaped specialised drydock had not seen any submarines as by the time of completion in late 1940’s the second world war was coming to a closure. We had been utilising this drydock specifically for smaller work boats and trawlers, given the market requirements and the strategic thinking of servicing the offshore support vessels.
